POWER TOOL
A power tool includes a spindle, a housing, a cover body configured to be removably mounted to the housing, a first engagement part provided on or in the cover body, and a second engagement part provided on or in the housing. The cover body includes an upper plate part and an outer peripheral part. The second engagement part is movable between an engagement position and a disengagement position. The first and second engagement parts are configured to restrict rotation of the cover body around the drive axis relative to the housing by engaging with each other. The first engagement part is (i) at a same location as or radially outward of the outer peripheral part of the cover body in a radial direction orthogonal to the drive axis, and (ii) between an upper end and a lower end of the cover body in the up-down direction.
Guard and control apparatus for safe operation of a rotary cutter
A power tool that drives rotary cutting element has a retractable guard for the cutting element, and a guard control apparatus allows a user to maintain the guard in a retracted position during operation of the power tool. The guard control apparatus includes an auxiliary handle fastened to the housing of the power tool, and latching elements linked to a spring-biased lever mounted in the auxiliary handle for selectively and temporarily retaining the retractable portion of the guard in a retracted position to enable plunge and other complex cutting operations. Maintaining the retractable portion of the guard in the retracted position during operation of the power tool thereby occupies both hands of the user. This not only helps the user stabilize and accurately control the power tool, but also keeps both of the user's hands safely away from the exposed cutting element in the event of a sudden kickback.
SHIELD ASSEMBLY FOR POWER TOOL
A shield assembly includes a guard collar and a guard member. The guard collar is disposed around a neck of a gear case of a power tool and includes a first engagement interface. The first engagement interface extends along an outer perimeter of the guard collar and defines a circumferential recess. The guard member includes a second engagement interface for removably engaging with the first engagement interface to secure the guard member to the guard collar. The second engagement interface includes a circumferential engagement member for mating with the circumferential recess of the first engagement interface. The guard member includes a body portion for at least partially surrounding a working member of the power tool.
Sliding ring for a grinding device and method for producing the sliding ring
A sliding ring for a grinding device consisting of a grinding element and a hood covering the grinding element and a sliding ring attachable to the side of the hood facing a surface to be machined, the sliding ring having a sliding surface provided for sliding on the surface to be machined, the sliding ring consisting of at least one elastic component and a sliding component, the sliding surface being formed on the sliding component and the elastic component being arranged on the side of the sliding component opposite the sliding surface.

SYSTEM AND APPARATUS FOR CLEANING SURFACES
Systems and apparatus are provided for polishing and grinding glass, stone, or other hard surfaces safely and cleanly. The apparatus presented comprises a mounting plate to be mounted to a rotary grinder, a cowl which may be easily attached to and removed from the mounting plate, and which comprises components to enable safe polishing and grinding of hard surfaces by capturing particulates produced by the grinding. A user may use the apparatus to clean and/or polish hard surfaces without creating a difficult-to-clean and dusty work environment, offering benefits to cleanliness, efficiency of work, and health and safety. The present invention solves problems with the currently available systems and apparatuses for polishing and grinding glass, stone, or other hard surfaces.
FLOOR GRINDING APPARATUS HAVING DUST SEALING RINGS
The present invention relates to a floor grinding apparatus (100) with a housing (110) having an interior space (111) open to one side, a carrier plate (120) rotatably mounted in the interior space (111) for receiving abrasives, and drive unit (130) adapted to rotate the carrier plate (120), the housing (110) having an inner dust sealing ring (112) with at least one recess (115), wherein the inner dust sealing ring (112) divides the interior space (111) into an inner portion (113) and an outer portion (114), and wherein the carrier plate (120) is disposed in the inner portion (114), at least one extraction opening (116) disposed in the outer portion (114), and an outer dust sealing ring (117) enclosing the interior space (111), the inner dust sealing ring (112) and the outer dust sealing ring (117) being arranged to define a common working plane parallel to the plane of rotation of the carrier plate (120).
Portable Power Tool Having a Covering Device
A portable power tool having a plate tool (30), in particular a sanding plate or polishing plate, and a drive motor, arranged in a machine housing, for driving the plate tool into an oscillating and/or rotating and/or eccentric movement of a machining surface of the plate tool, wherein the portable power tool is able to be guided with the machining surface in a main working direction forwards and to the side transversely to the main working direction in at least one transverse working direction in order to sand or polish a workpiece surface, wherein the portable power tool has a covering device for the plate tool, said covering device having at least one protective wall which is disposed upstream of at least one lateral surface, extending next to the machining surface, of the plate tool with regard to the main working direction and/or the transverse working direction in order to protect against contact with obstacles.
Fully rotatable grinder guard assembly and method for making same
A fully rotatable guard assembly (200) for use with a tool having a rotating disc includes at least one rotatable bearing (215, 223) for positioning on a shaft behind a rotating disc (207). A shield (203) works with the rotatable bearing (215, 223) for preventing sparks or other debris from being projected toward a user. A brake lever (241) is attached to the shield (203) for allowing the user to position the shield (203) at a predetermined position in relation to the rotating disc. The shield (203) is configured to cover approximately one-half () of the rotating disc (207) such that the position of the shield (203) can be easily rotated through use of the brake lever (241) for enabling the user to move the shield (203) such that the rotating disc (207) can access a workpiece.
