Apparatus, system, and method for machining an inner diameter of bored structures using an abrasive jet
An abrasive jet apparatus configured to machine features into an inner diameter of bored structures. In the abrasive jet apparatus, an abrasive mixture of pressurized liquid and abrasive particles is propelled as an abrasive jet in a direction other than the direction in which the abrasive jet apparatus extends. The abrasive jet apparatus may be implemented in an automated boring system and boring method for machining rifling grooves and other features into bored structures. The boring system and boring method use an iterative process of mapping a target surface of the bored structure and adjusting parameters of the boring system in between successive passes of the abrasive jet on the target surface.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR IMPROVEMENT OF SURFACE GEOMETRIES OF INTERNAL CHANNELS OF ADDITIVELY MANUFACTURED COMPONENTS
A cutting system for removing an excess material along a length of a channel constructed using an additive manufacturing process is disclosed. In various embodiments, the cutting system includes a cutting component having an abrasive surface configured to remove the excess material along a down-facing surface of the channel and a smooth surface configured for sliding contact with an up-facing surface of the channel; and a motive component configured to urge the cutting component through the channel.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTING A MOLD SEGMENT FOR CURING AND VULCANIZING A TIRE
A method for manufacturing an aluminium mould (1) segment (10) for curing and vulcanizing a tyre: a) fixing at least one thin blade (2) for the formation of the grooves in the tire tread, in a mould form made of friable material, so that an exterior part of the thin blade is embedded in the material of the mould form and so that an interior part projects from this mould form, this thin blade being made from maraging steel and having been obtained by a selective laser melting method, b) closing the mould form and pouring or injecting aluminium into it, coating the interior part of the thin blade, c) breaking away the mould form to obtain the mould segment. The thin blade (2) is subjected to a peening treatment with a material with a Vickers hardness between 340 and 500 HV and with dimensions smaller than 0.3 mm.
Universal adapter
A universal adapter includes a main tube for a combined suction unit and blasting unit. The main tube has a first connecting section for connection to a suction line of the suction unit and a second connecting section for connection to a working chamber. In order to reduce the number of suction adapters needed to connect to different openings in working chambers, the second connecting section is made of a flexible material and has a cutout in its periphery that extends from a free end of the second connecting section in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the main pipe.
HEAT EXCHANGER INTEGRATED SERVICES
An apparatus for cleaning heat exchangers may include a cleaning lance for cleaning a plurality of bores of the heat exchanger and an examination lance for examining a plurality of bores of the heat exchanger. The apparatus may further include a first feeder configured to extend and retract the cleaning lance and a second feeder configured to extend and retract the examination lance. The apparatus may further include a controller. The controller may be configured to control the first feeder to feed the cleaning lance into a first bore, to control the cleaning lance to clean the first bore, and to control the first feeder to retract the cleaning lance from the first bore. The controller may be further configured to control the first feeder to extend the cleaning lance into a second bore, to control the cleaning lance to clean the second bore, to control the second feeder to extend the examination lance into the first bore, and to control the examination lance to examine the first bore.
Shot peening tools and related methods
A tool for cold-working a metal substrate of a longitudinal bore having a diameter less than about eight inches includes a deflector tip configured to direct accelerated shot having diameters on average not larger than 100 mils (2.54 mm) toward a surface of the metal substrate at an angle between about 70 degrees and about 85 degrees relative to the surface, thereby providing increased compressive stresses in the metal substrate.
Method for cutting a tube or pipe
A cutting device using an ultrahigh pressure (UHP) hose carrying UHP fluid is designed to be inserted into a pipe or tube and cut the same from the inside out. In one example, the cutting device is for insertion into a wellbore for cutting the casing of the wellbore from within the wellbore with a revolvable UHP hose. The cutting head which effectuates the cut may be centered by a centering device that is generally conical in shape such that a portion of the centering device remains exterior to the pipe or tube as the UHP revolves during the cutting action.
Down well pipe cutting device
A cutting device using an ultrahigh pressure (UHP) hose carrying UHP fluid is designed to be inserted into a pipe or tube and cut the same from the inside out. In one example, the cutting device is for insertion into a wellbore for cutting the casing of the wellbore from within the wellbore with a revolvable UHP hose. The cutting head which effectuates the cut may be centered by a centering device that is generally conical in shape such that a portion of the centering device remains exterior to the pipe or tube as the UHP revolves during the cutting action.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FLUID CAVITATION PROCESSING A PART
Disclosed herein is a system for surface treating an internal surface of a part. The system comprises a tank within which the part is locatable. The system also comprises a fluid within the tank and capable of submersing the part when the part is located within the tank. The system further comprises a nozzle submersed in the fluid and configured to generate a stream of cavitated fluid directed in a first direction. The system additionally comprises a deflection tool submersed in the fluid and comprising a deflection surface that redirects the stream of cavitated fluid from the first direction to a second direction. The first direction is away from the internal surface of the part and the second direction is toward the internal surface of the part.
METHOD FOR A CENTERING DEVICE FOR A UTILITY TOOL IN A PIPE OR TUBE
A method for centering device on a cutting device using an ultrahigh pressure (UHP) hose carrying UHP fluid that is designed to be inserted into a pipe or tube and cut the same from the inside out. In one example, the cutting device is for insertion into a wellbore for cutting the casing of the wellbore from within the wellbore with a revolvable UHP hose. The cutting head which effectuates the cut may be centered by the centering device that is generally conical in shape such that a portion of the centering device remains exterior to the pipe or tube as the UHP revolves during the cutting action.
