System for reduction of dimensional end-taper in abrasive blasted tubes
System for reduction of dimensional end-taper in abrasive blasted tubes has a pressurized chamber maintaining higher air pressure inside the chamber than atmospheric pressure, an air-exit port allowing gases to exit the chamber at a controlled rate, a valve restricting passage of gases from the air-exit port, a pressurized membrane through which the tube passes creating a seal, a gauge port where pressure inside the pressurized chamber is monitored and a media-exit port allowing evacuation of abrasive blast media particles after being expelled from the exit-end of the tube. The system addresses dimensional end-taper as high back pressure at the exit end of the tube reduces velocity of the gases and abrasive particles carried in it, thereby reducing erosion of the inner walls of the tube near its exit end. The system can be employed with a wide range of tube sizes and in combination with several abrasive blasting techniques.

Tool for pickling by means of spraying and suction
A pickling tool configured for pickling a surface of an element, comprising a supply conduit delimiting a supply channel configured to be in pneumatic communication with a source of compressed air laden with a powder of an abrasive product, a removal conduit delimiting a removal channel configured to be in pneumatic communication with a suction source, and a nozzle having an opening that communicates with an exterior and is configured to face the surface, wherein the nozzle is in pneumatic communication with the supply channel and the removal channel. Such a tool thus allows the passage of a flow of air for spraying the abrasive and the suction of the abrasive and of the powder arising from abrasion.
Gas wiping nozzle and method of manufacturing hot-dip metal coated metal strip
A gas wiping nozzle configured to blow wiping gas onto a metal strip includes a first nozzle member and a second nozzle member provided to face each other, in which a slit as a gas blowing port is formed to extend in a length direction between end portions of the first nozzle member and the second nozzle member on the metal strip side; and a shim member configured to adjust a gap of the slit in a width direction orthogonal to the length direction, wherein the shim member is made of a ceramic material or a carbon material, each of the first nozzle member and the second nozzle member has a groove portion, and the shim member is fitted into both of the groove portions of the first nozzle member and the second nozzle member and fixes the first nozzle member and the second nozzle member.

Sand blaster with reduced vibration and wear
A sand blaster is provided that includes an engine carried by an engine mounting plate. A frame is included and an engine support isolator engages the frame and carries the engine mounting plate. The engine support isolator has a stud that extends through a first coil and a stud guide that has a tapered inner surface. The stud extends through the stud guide. In other arrangements an air regulator that is adjustable is provided, and a nozzle that features reduced wear is provided.

Portable cavitation peening method and apparatus
A method of cavitation peening may include coupling a moveable water source to a portable nozzle, through a flexible conduit. The method may include positioning the nozzle adjacent a treatment surface and discharging a first and second stream of fluid through a first and second channel of the nozzle, with the second channel concentrically positioned around the first channel. The first stream may have a first pressure, and the second stream may have a second pressure, the first pressure being greater than the second pressure and the two streams combining to generate a cloud of cavitation bubbles.
MOBILE WET ABRASIVE BLASTING SYSTEM UTILIZING AUTOMATED VALVES TO SIMPLIFY SETUP AND OPERATIONAL FUNCTIONS
The invention is directed toward a mobile wet-abrasive blasting system used for cleaning, preparing surfaces, removing coatings, and other abrasive blasting applications. The wet abrasive basting system has a blast pot that includes pilot-controlled pneumatics to control the loading, pressurizing, de-pressurizing, and wash down functions. The wet-abrasive blasting system also uses a floating bung in conjunction with a vent mechanism to further automate the pressurizing steps in setting up the system. The wet-abrasive blasting system also uses pilot-controlled pneumatics to decide the blasting function options of just water, just air, or water/abrasive mix and air. Wet-abrasive blasting systems mix an abrasive media with water and convey the mix to meet compressed air and direct through a blast hose and nozzle.
