SILICONE PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE AND SILICONE PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE COMPOSITION
Silicone pressure-sensitive adhesives is the reaction product of a composition including a silanol end group-containing linear organopolysiloxane; a non-functional linear organopolysiloxane; and a silicate resin; wherein the dynamic viscosity of the non-functional linear organopolysiloxane at 25° C. is 100,000 mm.sup.2/sec or greater. The silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive has enhanced adhesion while minimizing skin damage and pain during removal of the adhesive.
Bioadhesive for Soft Tissue Repair
The present invention provides compositions and methods for repair and reconstruction of defects and injuries to soft tissues. Some aspects of the invention provide tissue adhesives comprising a hybrid hydrogel by using a naturally derived polymer, gelatin and a synthetic polymer, polyethylene glycol, wherein the hydrogel is biocompatible, biodegradable, transparent, strongly adhesive to corneal tissue, and have a smooth surface and biomechanical properties similar to the cornea.
FLOWABLE HEMOSTATIC SUSPENSION
Compositions and methods related to flowable hemostats that crosslink during and/or after application to a bleeding site are generally described.
ANTIMICROBIAL HYDROCOLLOID DRESSING CONTAINING SEQUESTERED PEROXIDE AND PREPARATION THEREOF
This disclosure provides a hydrocolloid having a super absorbent material chemically bonded either directly or indirectly to a peroxide. The peroxide is within the hydrocolloid and the peroxide is in an amount of 0.05% to 2% by weight within the hydrocolloid.
Tissue-adhesive material
The invention is directed to a tissue-adhesive polymer blend comprising a bioresorbable carrier polymer and a bioresorbable synthetic tissue-reactive polymer as well as to a tissue-adhesive device for sealing dura mater comprising said tissue-adhesive polymer blend.
FOAMED SKIN COMPATIBLE SILICONE COMPOSITION
A skin compatible component attachable to mammalian skin. The component is formed as a foamed silicone matrix comprising a polyorganosiloxane derived silicone polymer and moisture control particulate distributed within the polymer network being configured to absorb moisture from the skin. The foamed skin compatible component may be utilised as an ostomy wafer or flange to secure an ostomy appliance to the skin and in particular peristomal skin.
BIO-INSPIRED DEGRADABLE TOUGH ADHESIVES FOR DIVERSE WET SURFACES
The present invention is directed to a biodegradable tough adhesive material comprising an interpenetrating networks (IPN) hydrogel comprising a first polymer network and a second polymer network, wherein the first polymer network comprises a first polymer covalently crosslinked with a biodegradable covalent crosslinker and the second polymer network comprises a second polymer crosslinked with ionic or physical crosslinks; a high density primary amine polymer; and a coupling agent. The present invention also provides methods preparing and using the biodegradable tough adhesive material.
Ostomy appliance having a neutralizing layer deposited on adhesive of a wafer and located inside a waste collection bag
An ostomy appliance has a waste collection bag attached to an adhesive wafer. The adhesive wafer includes an adhesive layer, a backing layer deposited on a distal side of the adhesive layer, a hole formed through the adhesive layer, and a neutralizing layer deposited on the distal side of the adhesive layer. The neutralizing layer is in direct contact with the adhesive layer and is inside of the waste collection bag. The neutralizing layer has a neutralizer that is adapted to neutralize output from the stoma.
SHAPE MEMORY POLYMER SCAFFOLDS WITH TUNABLE TRANSITION TEMPERATURES TO TREAT TISSUE DEFECTS
In an embodiment, the present disclosure pertains to method of forming a shape memory polymer (SMP) scaffold. In general, the method includes preparing a salt template, preparing a macromer and/or polymer solution having at least one macromer or polymer, preparing a photoinitiator solution having at least one photoinitiator, adding the macromer and/or polymer solution and the photoinitiator solution to the salt template, exposing the salt template to ultraviolet light, removing the salt template, and forming an SMP scaffold. In some embodiments, the at least one macromer or polymer has at least one star configuration. In an embodiment, the present disclosure pertains to an SMP scaffold having at least one macromer, polymer, or photoinitiator to crosslink a polymer. In some embodiments, the at least one macromer or polymer has a star configuration. The SMP scaffold can be formed via solvent-casting/particulate leaching, electrospinning, additive manufacturing, and combinations thereof.
Water-rich adherent gel, composition for manufacturing water-rich adherent gel, and electrode pad
The present invention provides an adhesive, high water content gel that does not cause a heat generation problem even when used as a patient plate for electrosurgical units through which high current flows and that is excellent in adhesion, as well as an electrode pad including the gel. The present invention relates to an adhesive, high water content hydrogel containing a polymer matrix that includes a copolymer of a polymerizable monomer and a crosslinkable monomer, water, a polyhydric alcohol, an electrolyte, polyacrylic acid, and polyvinyl alcohol, the hydrogel containing, based on 100% by weight of the total hydrogel, 40-70% by weight of water, 1.0-5.0% by weight of polyacrylic acid, and 0.5-5.0% by weight of polyvinyl alcohol, and being produced by copolymerization. An electrode pad is also obtained by coating a conductive layer formed on a base film with the adhesive, high water content hydrogel.
