Abrasive article reinforced by discontinuous fibers
An abrasive article has an abrasive portion and chopped strand fibers (CSF) with enhanced strength and/or fracture of toughness. The CSF may be coated with a thermoplastic having a loss on ignition of at least about 2 wt %. The CSF can have a primary coating and a secondary coating on the primary coating. At least some of the CSF can have a length of at least about 6.3 mm.

METHOD OF MAKING AN ABRASIVE ARTICLE AND ABRASIVE ARTICLE
A method of making an abrasive article comprises urging a malleable thermosetting melt-flowable composition through openings extending through a porous abrasive member to form an abrasive article precursor; which is heated to form the abrasive article. Multiple abrasive articles may be stacked prior to heating. Methods can be used to fabricate abrasive articles such as grinding wheels and cut-off wheels.
Elongate shaped abrasive particles, methods of making the same, and abrasive article including the same
An elongate shaped abrasive particle comprises an elongate shaped ceramic body having opposed first and second ends joined to each other by at least two longitudinal sidewalls. At least one of the at least two longitudinal sidewalls is concave along its length. At least one of the first and second ends is a fractured surface. Methods of making elongate shaped abrasive particles and abrasive articles including them are also disclosed.

Grinding Tool and Method for Producing a Grinding Tool
A grinding tool has a main body having at least one fiber ply embedded in a binder. An abrasive layer is arranged on the main body. The at least one fiber ply is arranged in the binder in a partially movable manner. As a result, a relative movement that ensures high vibration and noise damping is achieved within the main body and within the at least one fiber ply.
Surface modified abrasive particles, abrasive articles and methods of forming thereof
A surface modified abrasive particle may include a core abrasive particle and a coating functionally connected to a surface of the core abrasive particle. The core abrasive particle may have a median particle size of at least about 0.06 microns. The coating may include a compound selected from the group consisting of dopamine, tyrosine, dihydroxyphenylalanine, norepinephrine, epinephrine, normetanephrine, 3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid, tannic acid, pyrogallic acid or combinations thereof.

Abrasive article and method of making the same
Various embodiments disclosed relate to an abrasive article. The abrasive article includes a first major surface and an opposed second major surface. Each major surface contacts a peripheral side surface. A central axis extends through the first and second major surfaces. A first layer of abrasive particles is dispersed within the abrasive article according to a first predetermined pattern. Further a second layer of abrasive particles spaced apart from the first layer of abrasive particles and is dispersed within the abrasive article along a according to a second predetermined pattern. A binder material retains the first and second layers of abrasive particles in the abrasive article. A portion of the binder material is located between the first and second layers of abrasive particles. That portion of the binder material is substantially continuous.
