Abrasive disc

An abrasive article including a disc including a central axis; a primary outer edge substantially coaxial with the central axis and having a circumferential length, L.sub.1; a secondary outer edge substantially coaxial with the central axis and coplanar with the primary outer edge, the secondary outer edge having a circumferential length, L.sub.2, wherein L.sub.2 is less than L.sub.1; and a structurally weakened portion extending substantially adjacent to the secondary outer edge. In an embodiment, the abrasive article further includes a shedable portion configured to rupture the structurally weakened portion when the shedable portion is removed from the abrasive disc. In another aspect, an abrasive article having an initial outer circumferential length, L.sub.I, and a length of deliberately exposable circumferential edge surface, L.sub.OE, wherein L.sub.OE is greater than L.sub.I.

A grinding disc includes an inner layer (20) which is made of grindable material (containing abrasive particles) and an outer layer (20) which covers at least a portion of the surface of the inner layer (50) and which is made of non-grindable material (i.e. not-containing abrasive grain).

Circular support plate, nonwoven fabric polishing roll, roll assembly, and polishing method

A nonwoven fabric polishing roll having a through hole into which a rotating shaft of a polishing machine is inserted, that includes a polishing portion formed by stacking a plurality of circular nonwoven fabrics having an aperture that forms the through hole; and two circular support plates located one at each of both ends in the stacking direction of the polishing portion, having an aperture that forms the through hole, and having an external diameter that is substantially the same as that of the circular non-woven fabric; wherein, the circular support plates include nonwoven fabric that is hardened in a compressed state.
