QUICK CLAMP PIPE VISE AND METHOD

A pipe clamp has a base with a fixed jaw and a beam extending from the base. A movable jaw member is slidably mounted on the beam. The movable jaw member includes a movable jaw disposed opposite the fixed jaw. A pivotable handle is mounted to the movable jaw member and a clamping mechanism is connected to the pivotable handle and operated by the pivotable handle to move the movable jaw relative to the fixed jaw. A latch secures the pivotable handle in any of a plurality of positions. A tripod stand may be provided for supporting the pipe clamp, the tripod having a multi-compartment storage spreader.

A workpiece clamp device with single side is disclosed. When a bolt is screwed in relative to a base plane, an elastic member is compressed by a first and a second stop portions and a second clamp surface of a driving block is limited by a second wall surface. A first inclined surface is pushed leftward by a second inclined surface so that a tool is clamped by the first clamp surface and a first wall surface. When the bolt is screwed out relative to the base plane, the elastic member is reset due to the compression of the first and the second stop portions. Since the second clamp surface is limited by a second wall surface, the first inclined surface is pushed rightward by the second inclined surface to move the driving block upward so that the force for clamping the tool is released and the tool is disassembled.

A workpiece fixing jig 1 includes a base 2 to be fixed on a table, and a clamping mechanism 10 provided on the base 2 for clamping a workpiece. The clamping mechanism 10 includes a first clamping portion 20 and a second clamping portion 30 provided to face each other. At least one of the first and second clamping portions 20 and 30 is configured to move forward and backward with respect to the other along a moving direction and the moving direction is set to a direction intersecting a direction in which the base 2 is fixed on the table. In using this workpiece fixing jig 1, the base 2 is fixed on the table after the workpiece is clamped between the first clamping portion 20 and the second clamping portion 30.

The master jaw assembly comprises a master jaw having a groove formed in its side wall face, and a detachable jaw having a dovetailed rib projecting from its side wall face so that the soft jaw may be attached to the master jaw by frontally inserting the dovetailed rib into the groove with minimal loosening of the hold-down nuts in the master jaw. A special hold-down nut used to secure the dovetailed rib of the detachable jaw inside the groove of the master jaw has a substantially longer base edge compared with its top edge to provide increased securing force. The master jaw also features an adjustable reference stop plate attached to the end of the master jaw that may be moved to its engagement position when needed to engage the edge of or interior niche in the detachable jaw to ensure that the detachable jaw is attached to the master jaw in precisely accurate alignment on a repeatable basis.
