Twin Clamp and Method for Simultaneously Clamping Two Elongate Profile Segments
A twin clamp, comprising two receptacles (61, 62), each of which has two movable clamping jaws (611, 612, 621, 622) and by means of each of which an elongate profile segment (71, 72) having a circular cross-section can be clamped in the contact section, each elongate profile segment having a centre axis (D71, D72) and an outside diameter, wherein two clamping jaws (611, 612, 621, 622) of different receptacles (61, 62) are coupled to one another via a respective differential gearing (41, 42) and two clamping jaws (611, 612, 621, 622) of the same receptacle (61, 62) are coupled to one another via a synchronous gearing (51, 52) and the position of the centre axes (D71, D72) of the clamped elongate profile segments (71, 72) is independent of the size of the outside diameters of the elongate profile segments (71, 72).
CLAMP OF A DEVICE ON A PRODUCTION LINE AT LEAST PARTIALLY SUBMERGED IN A BODY OF WATER, MOBILE DEVICE AND ASSOCIATED METHOD
A clamp comprises a plurality of pads; a belt for clamping the pads that is maneuverable between an unclamped configuration and a configuration clamping the pads against the production line; a clamping actuator for the clamp, mounted on a first point of the clamp, the clamping actuator having a grasping member for a second point of the clamp, the grasping member being movable between a deployed position and a retracted position moving the second point towards the first point. The spacing-apart mechanism is able to move the grasping member between a spaced-apart configuration of the second point in the deployed position of the grasping member and a grasping configuration in an intermediate position between the deployed position and the retracted position.
PIPE FITTING STAND
A pipe fitting stand for supporting a pipe during a work operation includes a table, and a plurality of legs coupled to the table and movable between a deployed position and a stowed position. The pipe fitting stand additionally includes a vise coupled to the table for supporting a first portion of the pipe, and a support positioned on a side of the table opposite the vise upon which a second portion of the pipe is supported. The support is adjustable relative to the table, thereby adjusting the orientation of the pipe relative to the table.
Systems and methods for selectively securing a cylindrical body
At least some implementations of the present invention include the ability to access and secure a compressed riser portion of a pop-up sprinkler. Access is gained through use of the tip of the tool, sloped for access clearance between the sprinkler nozzle lip and outer sprinkler base. Once raised from the outer sprinkler casing, the riser is secured in a designated clamping bay or within designated clamping points. This two-pronged approach accommodates varying diameter of sprinkler risers and increases the multi-use function of the tool. The tool's overall inward tension is provided by an engineered compression spring designed with adequate outward tension without making hand compression use of the tool restrictive. Use of the tool in an inward sweeping motion toward the sprinkler allows for raising and clamping the riser in a quick and simple fashion. Thereafter, allowing free and open-hand access for quick and thorough maintenance, repair, exchange or adjustment of the sprinkler nozzle and filter.
Twin clamp and method for simultaneously clamping two elongate profile segments
The invention relates to a twin clamp, comprising two receptacles (61, 62), each of which has two movable clamping jaws (611, 612, 621, 622) and by means of each of which an elongate profile segment (71, 72) having a circular cross-section can be clamped in the contact section, each elongate profile segment having a center axis (D71, D72) and an outside diameter, wherein two clamping jaws (611, 612, 621, 622) of different receptacles (61, 62) are coupled to one another via a respective differential gearing (41, 42) and two clamping jaws (611, 612, 621, 622) of the same receptacle (61, 62) are coupled to one another via a synchronous gearing (51, 52) and the position of the center axes (D71, D72) of the clamped elongate profile segments (71, 72) is independent of the size of the outside diameters of the elongate profile segments (71, 72).
Methods and apparatus for determination of flow through a fluid conduit based on a measured convergence of fluid conduit temperature and ambient temperature
An apparatus for making a flow determination with respect to a flow through a fluid conduit such as a domestic water pipe, the fluid conduit comprising a wall having an inner surface surrounding a flow space through which the fluid flows and an outer surface, the apparatus comprising: a first temperature sensor arranged to be mounted on the outer surface of the fluid conduit and arranged to generate a first temperature signal indicative of a first temperature being the temperature of the outer surface; a second temperature sensor arranged to be positioned spaced apart from the first temperature sensor and to generate a second temperature signal indicative of a second temperature being the ambient temperature outside of the fluid conduit; and a processor having inputs for the first and second temperature signals; in which the processor has an output for the flow determination and is arranged to make the flow determination by determining a measure of the convergence of the first and second temperatures over time.
Modular Carriage Assembly for the Fusion of Polyolefin Pipes
Modular carriage for varying spacing between ends of polymer pipe during fusion. The modular carriage includes a fixed jaw; an inner movable jaw; an outer moveable jaw and a plurality of guide rods. The fixed jaw being adapted for tool free engagement with the terminal ends of the plurality of guide rods. A carriage cylinder is associated with at least two of the guide rods and mounted for reciprocal travel along the length of its associated guide rod. The movable jaws being adapted for tool free engagement with at least two carriage cylinders for reciprocal travel therewith.
