SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SELECTIVELY SECURING A CYLINDRICAL BODY
At least some implementations of the present invention include the ability to access and secure a compressed riser portion of a pop-up sprinkler. Access is gained through use of the tip of the tool, sloped for access clearance between the sprinkler nozzle lip and outer sprinkler base. Once raised from the outer sprinkler casing, the riser is secured in a designated clamping bay or within designated clamping points. This two-pronged approach accommodates varying diameter of sprinkler risers and increases the multi-use function of the tool. The tool's overall inward tension is provided by an engineered compression spring designed with adequate outward tension without making hand compression use of the tool 10 restrictive. Use of the tool in an inward sweeping motion toward the sprinkler allows for raising and clamping the riser in a quick and simple fashion. Thereafter, allowing free and open-hand access for quick and thorough maintenance, repair, exchange or adjustment of the sprinkler nozzle and filter.
FIXTURING COLLET ARRANGEMENTS AND FABRICATION METHODS
A collet member for fixturing a workpiece includes a monolithic collet body having a clamping block engaging outer wall portion, a workpiece engaging inner wall portion, a plurality of rigid, radially extending members extending between the outer wall and the inner wall to define a plurality of cavities, and a first radial wall on a first axial side of the collet body, defining a first closed end of the plurality of cavities.
Circular hydraulic press and method for reforming and resizing a chamber opening in a combustion chamber housing
A circular hydraulic press reforms and resizes a chamber opening in a combustion chamber housing. The press comprises a bar having a U-shaped end and a pair of free ends. The press comprises a panel having a C-shaped edge, a mounting edge, and a pair of slotted edges. The U-shaped end of the bar and the C-shaped edge of the panel buttress the perimeter of the chamber opening. The slotted edges and a pair of tubes on the slotted edges slidably receive the free ends of the bar to enable displacement of the panel towards the bar. A disk having a predetermined annular shape and circumference positions in the chamber opening. A hydraulic piston displaces the C-shaped edge of the panel towards the U-shaped end of the bar to press the chamber opening against the disk, and thereby reform the disk to substantially the same shape and circumference as the disk.
Fixing Device
A fixing device adapted to fix at least one needle-shaped member comprises a fixing base and a fixing mechanism. The fixing base has at least one positioning groove disposed at a front end of the fixing base. The needle-shaped member is adapted to be positioned in the positioning groove. The fixing mechanism has at least one pressing protrusion at a front end of the fixing mechanism. The pressing protrusion is adapted to press and hold the needle-shaped member in the positioning groove.
Reinforced plug
A method includes providing a die having a cylindrical body terminating in a rounded end, wrapping a fibrous material around the die while the fibrous material is tensioned, wherein the fibrous material is placed to extend in a continuous manner across the width of the rounded end of the body and to opposite sides of the cylindrical body, applying a curable resin on the die, curing the resin, and removing a reinforced cured resin plug from the die.
APPARATUS FOR MANIPULATING TUBULAR AND ROUND SECTION OBJECTS
An apparatus (100) for cutting workpieces comprises a clamping mechanism (2) adapted to be fastened to said workpiece (1) rotatably therearound. The clamping mechanism (2) comprises a frame element (5) and first and second arms (6, 7) extending therefrom. The arms (6, 7) are coupled at one end to the frame element (5) of the clamping mechanism (2) and each arm (6, 7) has its free end fitted with a contacting member (15, 16, 31, 32) configured to contact the surface of the workpiece. The apparatus comprises also two movable guiding members (28, 29) to which said arms (6, 7) are coupled so that when said guiding members (28, 29) are moved away from each other, the contacting member (15, 16, 31, 32) of the arms (6, 7) are configured to be moved away from each other and vice versa. The apparatus comprises also at least two supporting bars (50, 51) elongated through said guiding members (28, 29). The first supporting bar (50) comprises a first threaded portion (52) with a first coupling means (21), and the second supporting bar (51) comprising a second threaded portion (53) with a second coupling means (22). The first arm (6) and the first coupling means (21) are functionally coupled to each other by a first suspension arm (24), and the second arm (7) and the second coupling means (22) are functionally coupled to each other by a second suspension arm (25). The supporting bars are configured to be rotated at the same time.
Positioning workpieces by clamping devices
Methods, devices, and systems for positioning workpieces for processing. In one aspect, a clamping device includes two clamping elements and a servo drive provided for the clamping elements. The servo drive is operable to first move at least one of the clamping elements toward the other of the clamping elements such that the clamping elements are transferred into a clamping start position in which the clamping elements are positioned on opposite sides of a workpiece arranged therebetween and in which the clamping elements do not apply a force to the workpiece or apply a force to the workpiece that is smaller than a clamping force, and subsequently urge the clamping elements toward one another from the clamping start position to an operational state, in which the clamping elements apply the clamping force to the workpiece.
Rafter angle square door clamp stand system
A rafter angle square door clamp stand system functions like a truss, utilizing tension and compression. A horizontal tension base is suspended off of the ground by rotatable support members, one at each end of the base. The tension base has a T shaped slot that runs the length of the base. Two rafter angle squares, each having a T shaped member, slide into the slot of the base, one from each end of the base, with the vertical edges of the angle squares facing each other. The weight of the door on the tension base causes the base to flex downward, and the rafter squares to compress, holding the door in an upright position. Stop elements prevent the angle squares from moving backwards when the door is compressed and clamped. The system can be converted to support cylindrical objects, by reversing the positions of the angle squares.
Machining Fixture with Quick Release Lever
A fixture for supporting a workpiece during a machining operation is disclosed. The fixture may include a seat configured to receive the workpiece. The fixture may further include a quick release lever mounted to the fixture and configured to displace the workpiece from the seat.
