Apparatuses and methods for applying pressure to edge surfaces
An apparatus for applying pressure to an edge surface comprises a frame, a first roller, a second roller, a rotation-control member, a first biasing member, and a second biasing member. The first roller and the second roller are coupled to the frame and are rotatable relative to the frame. At least one of the first roller or the second roller is translatable relative to the frame. The rotation-control member is movable relative to the frame, controlling rotation of the first roller and the second roller relative to the frame. The first biasing member is coupled to the frame and is configured to operate in tension. The second biasing member is positioned, in compression, between the frame and the rotation-control member.
Apparatuses and methods for applying pressure to edge surfaces
An apparatus for applying pressure to at least a portion of an edge surface of a workpiece comprises a frame, a first roller, a second roller, a rotation-control member, a first biasing member, and a second biasing member. The first roller and the second roller are coupled to and are rotatable relative to the frame while at least one of the first roller or the second roller is translatable relative to the frame. The rotation-control member is coupled to and is movable relative to the frame, controlling rotation of the first roller and the second roller. The first biasing member is coupled to the first roller and to the second roller and configured to operate in tension. The second biasing member is positioned, in compression, between the frame and the rotation-control member.
Apparatuses and methods for applying pressure to edge surfaces
An apparatus for applying pressure to at least a portion of an edge surface, which bridges opposing faces of a workpiece, comprises a frame, a first roller, a second roller, a rotation-control member, a first biasing member, and a second biasing member. The first roller and the second roller are coupled to the frame, rotatable relative to the frame about a first pivot axis, and translationally fixed relative to the frame. The rotation-control member is movable relative to the frame, controlling rotation of the first roller and the second roller relative to the frame. The first biasing member is coupled to the frame and is configured to operate in tension. The second biasing member is positioned, in compression, between the frame and the rotation-control member.
Modular Clamp
A modular clamp is described. An example modular clamp includes a clamp assembly and a removable base member. The modular clamp includes multiple rotational aspects located an offset distance from one another and is thus usable to secure workpieces in a variety of positions and orientations while providing access for working thereon. The modular clamp further can be used in a variety of configurations and implementations to achieve a range of different working applications, which is not possible using conventional table clamps.
CLAMP FOR RETAINING A BLOCK OF MATERIAL ON A MACHINING TABLE, CLAMPING DEVICE COMPRISING SAID CLAMP AND METHOD OF CLAMPING A BLOCK OF MATERIAL ONTO A MACHINING TABLE
A clamp to retain a block of material on a machining table including a body having a first face, a first front face oriented toward the machining table and the block of material when in use, a nose projecting relative to the first front face having a second front face parallel to the first front face, first and second edges connecting the first and second front faces, and at least one internally threaded hole opening at least partly at the level of the second front face with an axis forming a non-zero angle with the first face and the second front face, at least one grub screw screwed into the internally threaded hole having a pointed free end configured to penetrate into the block of material when in use when screwing in the grub screw, and a connecting system to demountably connect the clamp to the machining table.
Grip vise
A vise includes a stationary jaw at one end of a rail and including a moveable jaw member having a clamping surface, and a lever having a cam at one end engaged with the jaw member; and a moveable jaw on the rail and including a moveable member engaging with a limit member at the other end of the rail; a jaw element having one end secured to the moveable member and having a clamping surface at the other end, an internal moveable wedge secured to the clamping surface of the jaw element and having first and second inclined surfaces; two opposite arms pivotably secured to the moveable member wherein one ends of the arms contact each other and engage with the first and second inclined surfaces respectively, and each arm has a cavity on an outer edge; and two urging blocks complimentarily engaging the arms respectively.
Air chuck provided with locking mechanism
A chuck mechanism operates a piston in a cylinder tube by using action of compressed air and opens and closes, by using a rod coupled to the piston, a pair of fingers, thereby gripping work W. The locking mechanism locks the fingers at work grip positions. The locking mechanism includes a first locking member, a second locking member, and a drive device. The first locking member is displaced when the pair of fingers are opened or closed. The second locking member retains the first locking member so as to lock the fingers at the work grip positions. The drive device relatively displaces the first locking member and the second locking member to locking positions and non-locking positions.
Apparatus and method for gripping a tubular member
Apparatus for gripping a tubular member where the apparatus includes a die and a die holder, and where at least one of the die or the die holder, on its portion facing the other, has at least two axially formed ridges that complementary fit in valleys in the other of the die or the die holder. The ridges have a larger bottom width than top width. The centre lines of the die ridges are substantially parallel at a distance, and the die, when unengaged, is radially movable between abutment of the die ridges to the die holder and abutment of the die to at least one stop member of the die holder.
The first roller and the second roller are coupled to the frame, are rotatable relative to the frame about a first pivot axis, and are translationally fixed relative to the frame. The rotation-control member is coupled to and is movable relative to the frame, controlling rotation of the first roller and the second roller relative to the frame. The first biasing member is coupled to the first roller and to the second roller and is configured to operate in tension. The second biasing member is positioned, in compression, between the frame and the rotation-control member.
LOCKING ASSEMBLY
A locking assembly for locking a portable electronic device to a work surface. The locking assembly comprises a clamp assembly including an elongated bar that extends between a first end and a second end. The clamp assembly further includes a first jaw and a second jaw moveable along the elongated bar for clamping to a work surface between the first and second jaws. A connector extends from a first connector end that is pivotally connected to the locking assembly to a second end that can be connected to the portable electronic device. The connector securing the portable electronic device to the work surface while permitting it to pivot with respect to the locking assembly.
