DOUBLE-ENDED RELEASE WRENCH FOR A TIE DOWN RATCHET STRAP
20210237234 · 2021-08-05 ·

A release wrench for a tie down ratchet strap, having an elongated body with a first wrench end positioned at a first end of the elongated body, and a second wrench end positioned at a second end of the elongated body. Each of the first and second wrench ends are notched such that either end can be inserted into the rotating ratchet of a tie down ratchet strap such that rotation of the release wrench causes the rotating ratchet to move. The first wrench end extends in a direction perpendicular to the elongated body of the release wrench, and the second wrench end extends in a direction parallel to the elongated body of the release wrench. As a result, the wrench can be positioned at four different (i.e.: 90 degrees apart) positions when the release wrench is first turned to cause the rotating tie down ratchet to move. This provides a simple and effective way to “un-stick” a dirty ratchet by prying it loose. Since the release wrench can conveniently be positioned initially in one of four different orientations, the wrench can be operated in conditions where there is little clearance for hands or tools, such as underneath or around vehicle trailers or cargo containers.

Multi-functional utility service tool
11130213 · 2021-09-28 ·

A utility tool for operating a utility meter set includes an elongate body member having opposed first and second ends. A regulator cap member is coupled to a first end of the body member and defines an aperture configured to grip a regulator cap of the meter set. The regulator cap member may include first and second portions in communication with one another and configured to loosen multiple regulator cap models, respectively. A service valve member is coupled to the second end of the body member and has an offset wrench head for operating a service valve of the meter set. A pressure adjustment member is coupled to the body member intermediate the opposed ends for adjusting the regulator pressure once the regulator cap is removed. The body member defines one or more bypass apertures having a configuration complementary to that of a bypass plug associated with the meter set.

HAND-HELD TOOL WITH SWIVEL JOINT ADAPTER AND FAIL-SAFE RELEASE MECHANISM
20210187710 · 2021-06-24 ·

A swivel joint adapter is for use between a tool handle and tool head such as a wrench head. The swivel joint adapter includes a tongue interposed between forked arms. The tongue and forked arms are able to be selectively swiveled upon simultaneous depression of two opposed release buttons. The release buttons have toothed-wall cylinders which lock with similar walls defined on apertures through the forked arms and tongue. Upon depression of the buttons, the toothed walls of the button disengage by lateral sliding movement from the toothed walls of the forked arms, thereby allowing swivelling of the joint adapter.

TOOL MANUFACTURING METHOD

A method for manufacturing hand tools, such as wrenches. The method generally includes the steps of providing a flat stock, cutting the flat stock into the desired two-dimension blank using a laser, and three-dimensionally machining the laser-cut 2D blank into the desired three-dimensional workpiece. The tool may undergo a heating treatment process and a surface treatment process. In the context of a wrench, the blank may be laser cut with a laser beam oriented to cut generally perpendicularly to the plane of the flat stock. After laser cutting, the handle and interface region between the handle and jaw(s) are machined to provide the desired three-dimensional shape. For example, the three-dimensional shape may be selected to provide a comfortable grip even when applying a high level of force. The wrench jaw may have an optimized geometry calculated so that there is no excess material or “over-designed” regions of the jaw. The wrench jaw has internal corners with optimized radii.

A screw clamping tool includes a main body and an elastic clamping member. The main body has a driving portion having a driving bore which rotates about a rotation center for driving a screw member. A plurality of contact faces are disposed on an inner side of the driving bore, and a positioning groove concavely is formed on the driving bore. The elastic clamping member is formed of a non-metal material and disposed in the positioning bore and protruding on an inner edge of the driving bore with respect to the contact faces. When the screw member is received in the driving bore, the elastic clamping member stably clamps the screw member.
