A wrench has a socket and a driving structure, and the socket accepts the driving structure. The driving structure has a first end and a second end and a slidable cover. The slidable cover has a main body adjacent to and outside of the socket for limiting movement of the main body between a locking position and an open position on the wrench. When the main body is in the locking position, the main body covers the first end of the driving structure, a threaded member passes through the second end of the driving structure into the socket and is stopped by the main body without exceeding the socket of the wrench; and when the main body is in the open position, the main body exits the first end of the driving structure, the threaded member passes through the first end of the driving structure and exceeds the socket of the wrench.

A ratchet wrench (1) has a flexible clutch ring (500) that forms the mid part of a laminate-like structure comprising a wrench head (200), the clutch ring (500) and a drive element (40). When under load, the compression forces applied to the clutch ring (500) are substantially dissipated around its circumference (508) and inner surface (509), this inward force clamping upon the inherently strong drive outer surface (45). The laminate-like construction enables a reduction in the width or depth of the wrench head without a loss in strength.

Securing unit for securing adapter to wrench

A wrench includes a handle and a driving head and a ratchet ring with a receiving hole is received in the driving head. An adapter is detachably inserted into the receiving hole and has a neck, an engaging portion and a reception hole. The neck on first end of the engaging portion has a first groove. A second groove is defined in the second end of the engaging portion. Multiple holes are defined through the bottom of the second groove and communicate with the reception hole. 33 A clip is engaged with the second groove and partially protrudes beyond the holes and exposed in the reception. A securing unit is connected to the driving head to secure or release the adapter. The receiving hole is connected with larger bits or sockets, and the adapter is connected with smaller bits or sockets.
