20190358793 · 2019-11-28 ·

A hydraulic torque wrench is disclosed and includes a nut engaging portion with ratchet teeth on an external surface thereof. There is also a support member which can rotate relative to whilst retaining the nut engaging portion. A ratchet mechanism cooperates with the ratchet teeth to apply a rotational force to the nut engaging portion as a result of the pushing force from a hydraulic ram. Side plate cover a junction between the nut engaging portion and the support member with the side plates having a noncircular aperture through which a nut and bolt can extend when the wrench is in use.

A pneumatic ratchet wrench includes a main body formed with a receiving chamber, a head unit, a driving unit and an air motor. The head unit defines a gas passage, and includes a ring portion and a frame portion. The ring portion includes an exit in spatial communication with the gas passage and opens toward the frame portion. The driving unit includes a driving head, and a transmission shaft mounted in the head unit. The air motor drives the transmission shaft and includes a cylinder and a rotor. The cylinder includes a venting hole allowing gas produced in the cylinder to pass through the venting hole and the gas passage and to exit from the exit to be blown toward the frame portion.

INTERCHANGEABLE, DEBRIS INSENSITIVE AND NON-SLIPPING REACTION TORQUE TRANSFER SYSTEM

Interchangeable monolithic or stacked Belleville reaction washers initially penetrate with outward bottom serration edges only during manual pre-tightening. Slippage is thereby avoided at begin of the consecutive power torque wrench assisted full tightening of the nut and/or bolt head resting on it. As the load ramps up, the reaction washer or stack flattens out and the bottom serrations gradually penetrate radially inwards. Reaction and actuation sockets of varying sizes matching a broad range of reaction washers and nut and/or bolt heads may be interchangeably snapped on a reaction coupling connected to the torque wrench housing. A clearance undercut underneath the reaction washer torque receiving flanges captures eventual debris to further assist unimpeded and fast coupling of the system. Radially oriented contact faces between reaction washer and reaction socket provide a snug contact unaffected by their toroidal movement during washer flattening and a force transfer free of radial force components.

Ratchet type power wrench

A ratchet type power wrench includes a housing, a pressure medium powered actuator, a ratchet mechanism included in the housing and coupled to the actuator, an open ended output socket with a constant cross sectional dimension throughout a length thereof, which is rotatably supported in the housing and engaged by the ratchet mechanism, and an angle encoder provided to indicate angular displacements of the output socket. The angle encoder has a form of a separate unit included in a casing, the casing being attachable to either side of the housing for connecting the angle encoder to either end of the output socket. The angle encoder includes a rotatable signal initiating part and a movement sensor rigidly mounted in the casing, the rotatable signal initiating part being provided with at least one coupling dog adapted to engage cavities located at both ends of the output socket.

HYDRAULIC HAND-HELD KNOCKOUT PUNCH DRIVER

A hand-held knockout driver includes a main housing having a handle portion, a motor positioned within the main housing, a pump assembly driven by the motor, and a secondary housing coupled to the main housing and defining a bore therein. The hand-held knockout driver also includes a working piston moveable within the bore from a rest position to an actuated position to define a piston throw distance therebetween. The hand-held knockout driver also includes a draw stud coupled to the working piston, a die coupled to the secondary housing, and a punch coupled to the draw stud opposite the working piston for movement therewith relative to the die. The die has a depth greater than the piston throw distance.

Safety wrench for conduit union and method of use
10286530 · 2019-05-14 ·

A safety wrench for coupling and uncoupling hammer union type connections employs a spring biased retractable bolt to apply a blow to the union lug. In use the bolt is retracted rearward to compress compression springs positioned within an internal spring bore in the bolt to a position away from the lug of the union to be rotated. When the bolt is disengaged from the ratchet mechanism, the compression springs rapidly extend to rapidly move the bolt forward to impact the union lug and rotate the union. The bolt may be retracted by a hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder, a hand lever, or a rack and pinion mechanism. Reversing the position of the safety wrench on the union lug will allow the union to be rotated in the opposite direction.
