Tool for Driving a Fastener

A hand tool for driving a fastener is provided. The hand tool includes gearing that interconnects a splined socket to a rotatable or trigger actuator and increases a rotational speed of the splined socket relative to the actuator. The hand tool may include a power tool receiver or an independent motor to drive rotation of the splined socket to advance or retract a fastener from a threaded shaft. By increasing the speed and conserving rotational inertia, the hand tool reduces the time to secure a fastener on a threaded shaft. A rotatable nut is provided. The rotatable nut can slideably orient along a first axis and threadedly orient along a second axis to fasten to an adjacent surface.

Length extension assembly for a hand tool

A length extension assembly for a hand tool comprises at least two elongated extension tubings each having a longitudinal passageway and being of a size and shape that one of the tubings may be selectively inserted into the passageway of the other tubing. The assembly also includes at least two elongated extension bars each of a size and shape that each extension bar may be inserted into an appropriate tubing. The tubings are provided with longitudinally spaced locking holes. Each bar is provided with a locking member which can enter and be engaged in one of the locking holes to connect the bar to its tubing. Optionally, one tubing could be inserted into the larger tubing and a locking member on the smaller tubing could be engaged in a locking hole of the larger tubing to connect the tubings together. Various length selections can be achieved by connecting a bar to at least one tubing or by connecting a bar to one tubing and connecting that tubing to a larger tubing. Additional length adjustment is achieved by the engagement of a locking member in an appropriate locking hole.

A tool adapted for use with a diffuser cartridge and a fluid container, wherein the tool is adapted to facilitate insertion and removal of the diffuser cartridge to and from the fluid container. The tool includes segments that can be separated for shipping or storage and assembled into a tool for removing and inserting a diffuser cartridge. The segments of the tool interlock using a complementary tongue and groove structures. The bottom element that engages the diffuser includes a tongue that engages a middle element having a groove. The middle element also has a tongue that engages a top element having a groove.

Disengaging socket extension
11173586 · 2021-11-16 · ·

A socket extension assembly adapted to be driven by a power tool is disclosed. The shell surrounds a connector and drive subassembly that are fixedly attached to one another and in axial alignment. A biasing member is interposed between the shell and subassembly to provide disengagement of the drive and shell in a natural state, and engagement and transmission of rotation when axial force is applied to mate the drive and shell. This enables a fastener to be loaded into the socket as usual and hand-started while the fastener is already loaded into the socket. After confirmation that the threads are properly and sufficiently aligned and engaged into the mating threads, the fastening process can be completed by applying axial pressure to transmit the rotational force from the power tool via the bit and the drive to the socket stem.

ADJUSTABLE WRENCH

A wrench, connectable to a standard square shaped extension, has a wrench head with opposed jaw faces which together define a plane that lies perpendicular to the respective jaw faces. A standard square shaped extension socket is affixed to the wrench head, where a standard square shaped extension can be inserted into the standard extension socket, along a direction that is non-orthogonal to the transverse plane. The standard extension socket can be attached to a frame of the wrench head, or to a rotatable guide which controls movement the opposed jaw face which is movable.

Dental screwdriver
11779435 · 2023-10-10 · ·

The disclosure relates to a dental screwdriver having a shaft portion made of a smart type alloy that bends with little or no resistance along an arch forming portion thereof and without imparting torqueing forces along a distal front end portion thereof onto which is connected a drive tip designed to interface with an appropriately sized screw. The smart alloy automatically assumes its original shape in the absence of twisting forces on the shaft along the arch forming portion. In an alternate embodiment, assuming the original shape involves applying heat and/or subtle finger pressure. The dental screwdriver may be part of a set of screwdrivers, each having a distal front end portion which is uniquely weighted, sized and/or dimensioned to accommodate different driver tips, handle different torqueing functions, and/or configured to bend to a specific maximum angular arch without permanent deformation. A dental prosthetic having a curved bore cavity is also described.

Power tool to tool bit extension adapter

An extension adapter includes a body having a bore. The bore is configured to receive a tool bit. The extension adapter includes a retaining member received within an aperture of the body and a biasing member coupled to the body. The biasing member includes a protrusion received within the aperture to bias the retaining member into a first position in which a portion of the retaining member extends into the bore. The extension adapter includes a collar moveable between an unlocked position and a locked position. The unlocked position is configured to allow the tool bit to be removed from the bore. While the collar is maintained in the locked position, the body is configured to slidably receive the tool bit such that the portion of the retaining member is received in a groove of the tool bit to secure the tool bit to the body.
