METHOD FOR INSTALLING A FASTENER IN A THROUGH-ORIFICE OF A BOX-TYPE STRUCTURE OPEN AT AT LEAST ONE END, AND TOOLING FOR CARRYING OUT THE METHOD
A method for installing a screw in at least one through-orifice of a box-type structure, including inserting a body of a first tool into the through-orifice from an external region of the box-type structure, moving the body in an internal region of the box-type structure, towards an end of the box-type structure, securing the screw to the body, the first tool comprising a link connected to the body which remains accessible from the external region during the inserting, moving and securing steps, pulling on the link from the external region until the shank of the screw is positioned in the through-orifice, and separating the body from the screw.
Adjustable length handle
An adjustable length handle having a first handle member, a tubular shaped second handle member and an adjusting mechanism interconnecting the two handle members to shorten or lengthen the handle length. The second handle member has an interior channel that receives the first handle member. An inner surface of the channel is in opposing relation to an outer surface of the first handle member. The adjusting mechanism comprises a longitudinally disposed length adjusting slot and one or more laterally disposed engaging slots in the inner surface that receive an engaging member which extends outward from the outer surface of the first handle member. When in the length adjusting slot, the engaging member allows linear movement of one handle member relative to the other handle member to adjust the handle length. When in one of the engaging slots, the engaging member prevents such linear movement to fix the handle length.
Attachment assembly to be connected with a hand tool
An attachment assembly for being connected with a hand tool includes an active unit, a passive unit and a switching shaft. The active unit includes a front wheel, a middle wheel and a rear wheel are simultaneously rotatably connected in sequence. The passive unit includes a first wheel and a second wheel are simultaneously rotatably connected. The switching shaft pivotably connects the active unit and the passive unit, and switches the active unit and the passive unit being rotatable or not.
INSERTION TOOL
An insertion tool for performing an operation on equipment, the insertion tool including: a plurality of segments, each segment of the plurality of segments including a body including: a first hinge; a second hinge, the first and second hinge members pivotally coupling adjacent segments of the plurality of segments together; and a cavity extending along the body of the segment, the cavity exiting the body at a plurality of exit locations, wherein at least one of the plurality of exit locations is disposed adjacent to the first hinge; and a selectively rigidizable strength member disposed within the cavity.
Hex tool
A hex tool including a hex head having a hex portion for engaging socket head cap screws or wrenches. The hex portion also having a body portion extending from the hex portion. The body portion having a spherical-shaped cavity disposed therein. The hex tool also includes a handle with a ball end and a primary handle portion. The ball end disposed in the spherical-shaped cavity to provide the hex tool a significant range of motion during use. Another type of hex tool having a hex head having a hex cavity for engaging a hex head bolt. The hex head also having a body portion extending from the hex cavity. The body portion having a spherical-shaped cavity disposed therein. The hex tool also including a handle with a ball end and a primary handle portion. The ball end disposed in the spherical-shaped cavity to provide the hex tool a significant range of motion during use.
ADAPTOR FOR USE BETWEEN A STOP VALVE AND EXTENSION WRENCH
A stop valve adaptor to make a stop valve having a threaded stem actuatable through a stop valve box using a stop valve key. The stop valve adaptor is affixed to the threaded stop valve stem using a nut. The stop valve box is preferably made of a polymeric material and is maintained at a predetermined length by using friction due to O-rings, a glue joint, or clamping to dispose a stop valve box cover at the ground surface.
Multi-section universal tool
A multi-section universal tool includes an assembling member, a connecting member, a working member and two elastic members. The assembling member has an assembling portion and a first receiving room. The connecting member includes a connecting ball joint and a second receiving room. The connecting ball joint includes a connecting elastic abutting member which has a tendency to radially move outwardly. The connecting ball joint is inserted into the first receiving room and movable relative to the first receiving room to be in a first connecting position or a second connecting position. The working member includes a working ball joint including a working elastic abutting member which has a tendency to radially move outwardly. The working ball joint is inserted into the second receiving room and movable relative to the second receiving room to be in a first working position or a second working position.
Flexible shaft support rod
A support rod for a hollow, flexible torque transmitting shaft for treating a bone includes support and flex portions. When the rod is received at a desired position within the shaft, the support portion extends through a first non-bendable portion of the shaft. An outer diameter of the support portion substantially corresponds to an inner diameter of the shaft to support the first portion. When the support rod is received at the desired position, the flex portion extends through a second bendable portion of the shaft. The flex portion includes a holding portion having an outer diameter substantially corresponding to an inner diameter of the second portion and a gap portion having an outer diameter reduced relative to the outer diameter of the holding portion to form an annular gap between the gap portion and an inner surface of the holding portion.
Filing and fastener driving bit assembly
A filing and fastener driving bit assembly for deburring the end of a pipe includes a shaft that has a first end and a second end. A first section of the shaft that is positioned adjacent to the first end is hexagonally shaped. The first section is insertable into a chuck of a rotary tool to couple the shaft to the rotary tool. A second section of the shaft that is positioned between the first section and a second end of the shaft is textured. The second section is used to file an edge of a tubular substrate, such as Electrical Metallic Tubing, as the shaft is rotated by the rotary tool. A screwdriver tip that is coupled to the second end of the shaft is insertable into a complementary head of a fastener, positioning a user to utilize the rotary tool to drive the fastener.
SCREW DRIVER AND COMPLIMENTARY SCREWS
Disclosed screwdrivers may include a rotatable drive shaft having a drive portion disposed at a distal end thereof, and a drive end disposed at a proximal end thereof. Disclosed screwdrivers may include an angled tip portion that is angled with respect to the longitudinal direction, and a mechanism configured to transfer a rotational force applied to the drive portion of the drive shaft through the angled tip portion to the drive end of the drive shaft. Disclosed screwdrivers may include an elastic retaining clip configured to have a bone screw securely attached therein at a clipping force and progressively release the bone screw therein at an extraction force. Disclosed screwdrivers may include at least one spring contacting the elastic retaining clip and the angled tip portion that is configured to facilitate the progressive release of the bone screw.
