Push-off driver and method for inserting bone screws

A method and device for inserting screws into a patient, such that when the device is removed the device does not stick to the screw. The device, being a push-off driver, may have a handle, an inner driver, and a threaded driver sleeve having a button mechanism and a plurality of spheres, and an inner sleeve. The method includes the steps of assembling a push-off driver attaching a bone screw to the push-off driver inserting the bone screw and detaching the bone screw from the driver by unthreading the threaded driver sleeve from the polyaxial screw which causes the spheres in the recess of the inner driver to back up against the start of the recess and causing the threaded driver sleeve to push-off the polyaxial screw from the inner driver.

Detachable tool assembly for screwdriver

A detachable tool assembly for a screwdriver may include a main body, a sleeve, an extending tube, a first controlling piece, a second controlling piece, an operating unit, and at least a tool rod. The extending tube can be rotated round the main body, so the user can hold the extending tube by hand to provide support when screwing process. Also, it is convenient for user to replace the tool head, while the user has no need to use two hands to remove or place the tool heads, but one hand holding the handle rotates the operating unit to achieve the replacing process.

Shaft Securing Mechanism

A shaft securing mechanism is provided that includes pins, bearings or other securing members that are biased inwardly at an angle with respect to the axis of the shaft being engaged by the mechanism. The angled orientation of the engagement of the pins with the shaft enables the pins to more securely hold the shaft relative to the handle without significant slop or play in the lateral or longitudinal directions. The mechanism also includes a tapered inner surface to increase the ease of alignment of the shaft with the mechanism, which allows the shaft to be engaged with the handle by only pressing and rotating the shaft into the mechanism within the handle.

Method of Using a Combination Driver/Anti-Rotation Handle for Shoulder Arthroplasty

A method of preparing a shoulder to receive a glenoid component includes accessing a glenoid of a shoulder, rotationally coupling a distal portion of a combination device to an instrument, applying a torque to a proximal portion of the combination device, transferring the applied torque from the proximal portion to the distal portion through a pivotable connection, rotating the instrument using the transferred applied torque, and reaming a portion of the glenoid with a rotating reaming section of the instrument using the transferred applied torque.

Torque limiting instrument, system and related methods

An instrument for limiting torque can include a method for limiting torque that is transferred from a handle of the instrument through a torque transfer member to a shaft that extends relative to the handle. The method can include applying a torque to the handle along a direction relative to the shaft. The method can include transmitting the applied torque from the handle through the torque transfer member to the shaft when the applied torque is less than a limited torque value. When the applied torque is greater than the limited torque value, at least one of the torque transfer member and the handle deforms so as to allow the handle to rotate along the direction relative to both the torque transfer member and the shaft.

Clamping tool with interchangeable arm

A clamping tool is provided comprising a body, containing control circuits and electronic processing circuitry and having, at one end, a handle for gripping by an operator making the clamping, and on the other end, an arm. The arm comprises, at its free end, a seat that can be alternatively pluggable to a plurality of inserts suitable for engaging the tool with a corresponding type and/or dimension of a mechanical member on which the tool is configured to operate to perform a clamping operation. Sensor means are provided on the arm for detecting tightening conditions exerted on the mechanical member. Furthermore, a microprocessor electronic card is provided on the arm for receiving analogic signals from the sensor means, converting the signals into digital format, and handling transfer of the signals in digital format to the electronic processing circuitry.

Compact gas cylinder valve ratchet driver tool

Disclosed is a gas cylinder ratchet driver tool that is specifically suited for opening and closing valve posts of gas cylinders. The tool comprises an outer handle body for one-handed use and an external ratchet switching actuator. Within the handle body is an internal housing that supports a rotatable socket therein. The socket comprises an elongated length with a lower working end adapted to engage a gas cylinder valve post and a ratchet gear upper end. A first and second wedge plate supported by the housing and acted upon by the actuator controls the ratchet direction by bearing against the ratchet gear, determining ratchet direction or ratchet lock. A flat spring beneath the actuator manipulates the wedge plates against the ratchet gear to control the ratchet direction. The socket working end comprises two flat portions to facilitate placement of the socket onto a gas cylinder valve post in emergency situations.
