Screw guide and related method of use

A fastener guide is provided including a base plate that engages a first board, a guide member that maintains an advancing fastener at a preselected offset angle relative to the first board, and a retainer clip that engages a second board that is transverse to the first board. The retainer clip includes first and second prongs that resiliently hold the guide in place as the fastener is advanced at the offset angle, optionally without manual input so that a user can manipulate the fastener and a driving tool instead of holding the guide to align the fastener. A related method of use is provided.

Fastening tool, a bolt assembling device and a method for assembling a high pressure compressor rotor

A fastening tool. In the fastening tool, a top part guiding matching portion engages a top part guiding portion in a sliding fit; a pressing part guiding matching portion engages a pressing part guiding portion in a sliding fit; a lever hinged to a base part; a transmission part engages a transmission part guiding slot in a sliding fit; the transmission part is driven to slide by the pressing part, and the lever is driven to rotate by the transmission part, then the top part is driven to slide out, due to a reaction force acting on the pressing part by the transmission part and the friction between the pressing part and the base part, the pressing part remains to be self-locked by friction, which can constrain the pressing part and the top part is locked.

FASTENER RETENTION MECHANISMS

Fasteners and instruments with fastener retention mechanisms are disclosed. The fastener retention mechanisms may be independent of fastener deployment forces, such as torque. The fastener retention mechanisms may include spring elements of the instruments, whose flexion is limited by other features of the instruments so that the springs function only in their elastic zones and are prevented from experiencing yielding, plastic deformation, bending, cracking, or breaking.

FASTENER GUIDE AND RELATED METHOD OF USE

A fastener guide defines a downward opening funnel having an upper end that transitions to an elongated barrel in which a drive feature is movably disposed. The funnel can fit over an upright fastener so that a head is guided into and enters the barrel a distance so the drive feature can align and register with the head in the barrel before the drive feature advances the fastener through the funnel. The guide can include a guide sleeve and a biasing element interposed between the sleeve and the barrel to urge the barrel from a retracted mode to an extended mode. The barrel can telescope relative to the sleeve in transitioning from the extended mode to the retracted mode, for example, when the funnel engages a board and the drive feature advances the fastener. The biasing element can compress during this telescoping. Related methods of using the guide are provided.

Screw installation aid for holding and aligning a screw
10427279 · 2019-10-01 ·

A screw installation aid holds and aligns a screw in an inclined screw axis relative to the component to be screwed. At least one screw guide receives the screw in the inclined screw axis, and a screwing tool advances through an opening to the screw head coaxially to the screw axis, to install the screw in the component in its inclined position. The screw installation aid encompasses a telescopic cross-member including at least two support segments adjustable coaxially to one another, the undersides of which facing the component form a level and, before adaptation to the component, continuous support surface, each of the undersides bearing one of the clamping blocks. The clamping blocks can be positioned from a closing to an opening position against the resistance of a spring device between both support segments and a screw guide is enclosed in at least one of the support segments.
