The clutch mechanism may include a variable rate, or a dual rate biasing mechanism. mechanism that transmits power from a motor to an output device. A speed selection mechanism may be coupled to the transmission mechanism, to control a speed reduction through the transmission mechanism, and an output speed of the tool. The transmission mechanism may employ a compound, stepped, planetary gear assembly, to provide for an axially compact arrangement of transmission mechanism components, to reduce an axial length of the tool. The speed selection mechanism may employ a multi-staged grounding device, corresponding to the reduced axial length of the transmission mechanism.

The torque adjustment mechanism adjusts a torque setting of the primary beam relative to the secondary beam. The torque adjustment mechanism includes a thumb adjustment wheel that a user rotates about a first axis to adjust the torque setting by moving the second end of the primary beam relative to the handle along a second axis offset from the first axis.
TORQUE LIMITER
A torque limiter for a surgical screwdriver that includes an outer sleeve (1); a snap sleeve (3), which is arranged in and rotates with the outer sleeve; a rolling element cage (6), which is arranged in the snap sleeve; an inner sleeve (10), which is arranged in the rolling element cage; and a force-transmitting shaft (11), which is received in and rotates with the inner sleeve. The inner wall of the outer sleeve is provided with recesses (8) that extend parallel to a rotational axis of the force-transmitting shaft. The rolling element cage is provided with a plurality of rolling element receiving areas (5), each of which holds a rolling element (4), and with a number of noses (7), which engage into the recesses. The inner sleeve is provided with a plurality of notches (9), which extend in a V-shape parallel to the axis and which receive the rolling elements.
Dental and Orthopedic Insertion Tool
The present invention describes a dental insertion tool, comprising: an axle and an insertion element; wherein the axle comprises a axle attaching region; the insertion element comprises a attaching region of the insertion element; in which axle's attaching region and the insertion element's attaching region make the connection between the said axle and the said insertion element; the axle rotating the insertion element when connected; wherein the axle fixation region comprises a torque limiting element, which may be an shear pin and a hole located in the attaching region of the insertion element or a latch and spring lock set wherein the latch hooks in the internal grooves of the insertion element's attaching region.
Thus, one advantage of the present invention is the torque limiting element is configured in order to limit the torque applied to the implant, and then avoiding the possible damage that can be caused to the implant and the patient, preserving the implant even if a excessive torque is applied, depending on the type of application, implant and/or technique used.
UNIVERSAL BONE SCREW SCREWDRIVER
The instant invention is directed to a universal bone screw screwdriver and in particular to a universal screwdriver that permits the removal of screws from bone plates that are manufactured by different manufacturers having distinct characteristics. The universal bone screw screwdriver is adapted to removably receive an elongated tool bit having a hollow center. The elongated tool bits correspond to the screw heads of different manufacturers and comprises a torque limiting and locking spring assembly to secure the elongated tool bit to the driver shaft and inhibit over-tightening of the bone screw into the bone or bone plate as the case may be.
Rotating Tool Base with Modular Heads
A rotating power tool assembly includes a rotating power base and a modular drive head. The rotating power base may be configured to rotate a spindle, and the modular drive head may be configured to be detachably coupled to the rotating power base. The modular drive head may comprise a torque control clutch, a working tip, and a torque value indicia. The torque control clutch may be non-adjustably structured to implement a torque limiting slip event that prevents the working tip from further rotation, despite continued rotation of the spindle, in response to the working tip being subjected to torque in excess of a discrete torque value. The torque value indicia may be externally visible and may comprise a visible characteristic that correlates to the discrete torque value.
Hand-held power tool
A hand-held power tool having hammer-drilling, drilling and screwing modes, including a mode-setting device having an actuating element, a setting element, and a gear unit for driving an output shaft, in which the actuating and setting elements are interconnected in a rotatably fixed manner, and, in an operating mode(s), the setting element is coupled to a transmission element supported at a coupling housing assigned to the gear unit and axially displaceable at the coupling housing in a screwing position associated with the screwing mode and is axially fixed in position at the coupling housing in hammer-drilling and drilling positions of the corresponding modes; the transmission element is connected to the coupling housing in a rotatably fixed manner, a predefined operating mode being settable by rotating the setting element; the setting and transmission elements being rotatable relative to one another, the setting element embracing at least sections of the transmission element.
Torque-Limiting Torque Sleeve with Fail-Safe Failure Mode
A torque-limiting torque sleeve may include an inner sleeve and an outer sleeve configured to be coupled to one another in a coaxial arrangement such that the outer sleeve is fixed relative to the inner sleeve in the longitudinal direction. A first end of the outer sleeve overlies a first end of the inner sleeve, and a second end of the inner sleeve extends from the outer sleeve to provide an exposed length. A torque limiting feature is configured such that rotation of the outer member in a first direction enables tightening of a coupler on an interface port up to a predetermined torque limit, and rotation of the outer member in a second direction opposite to the first direction loosens the coupler on the interface port. In the event that the torque limiting feature fails such that rotation of the outer member in the first and second directions does not tighten or loosen the coupler on the interface port, the exposed length of the inner member is gripable by a user to tighten or loosen the coupler on the interface port.
HYPOCYCLOID REDUCTION GEARLESS SPRING WASHER TORQUE LIMITING DEVICE
Disposable torque-limiting gearless device with speed reduction. Torque-limiting interfaces having a plurality of undulations arranged around an axial bore or drive socket and separated by a plurality of transition regions configured to engage and disengage to provide torque transmission with predetermined torque limits at various rotational speeds and for amounts of actuations while remaining within a specified operational range. The reduction assembly integral to the gearless torque limiting assembly provides a drive shaft having an input segment, an eccentric segment, and an output segment, wherein the input segment and the output segment each have a centerline running along a same first axis, and wherein the eccentric segment has a center line running along a second axis, the second axis being parallel to the first axis and positioned a first distance away from the first axis.
Torque Wrench
A torque wrench includes a driving device having a connecting rod pivotably connected to a body. The connecting rod is pivotably connected to a head of the driving device and is pivotable between first and second positions. The torque wrench has first and second lever arms corresponding to the first and second positions, respectively. A torque device is mounted to the body and presses against an abutting end of the connecting rod. An adjusting device is movably mounted to the body and is operatively connected to the torque device for setting an initial torque value. A measuring unit measures the initial torque value. An operating unit multiplies the initial torque value by a first or second correction coefficient corresponding to the first or second lever arm to obtain a corrected torque value. A display unit displays the corrected torque value.
