20210002997 · 2021-01-07 ·

An apparatus for monitoring a power swivel system includes a smart box comprising a processing device electrically associated with a memory, communication technology and least one of a local display device or a remote display device where the communication technology. The smart box is associated with a power swivel system comprising a power swivel unit in fluid communication with a hydraulic pump system driven by a motor. The hydraulic pump system is configured to pump a hydraulic fluid through the power swivel unit to activate rotating elements. A plurality of sensors are connected to the processing device and various components of the power swivel system including the rotating elements to monitor such elements and minimize the possibility of an over speed and/or over torque condition. Data providing a status of the power swivel system components is transmitted to a remote device and presented to a user via a GUI.

Pneumatic tightening/untightening device with optimized setting of intake

A pneumatic screw driving device includes a terminal element intended to cooperate with an element to be tightened/untightened and a body. The body houses: a pneumatic motor capable of rotationally driving the terminal element; an air intake into the motor; and a setting element for setting an intake section of the air intake into the motor. The setting element can take at least: a fixed state in which the intake section is fixed; and a setting state in which the intake section is adjustable between at least two values.

A torque wrench for multiple bolts or nuts comprises multiple drive spindles that are arranged annularly around a center and are equipped or able to be equipped at the end with respective torque-applying tools, and a ratchet drive, associated with each drive spindle and driven by means of a hydraulic piston drive, for driving the drive spindles. In addition to the ratchet drive, a locking ratchet for locking the drive spindle acts on each drive spindle to keep it from turning back when exercising a return stroke movement of the drive ratchet. The locking ratchets are arranged in a locking bracket, which is penetrated by the drive spindles. The locking bracket has means for loosening the locking ratchets.

Clamp force estimation via pulsed tightening

A method for estimating a clamp force obtained at tightening of a screw joint via a torque pulse sequence includes applying a primary torque pulse to rotate the screw joint in a tightening direction, measuring a torque level obtained by the primary torque pulse, applying a secondary torque pulse to move the screw joint in a loosening direction, measuring a torque level obtained by the secondary torque pulse, and calculating a difference between the torque level obtained by the primary torque pulse and the torque level obtained by the secondary torque pulse. The obtained clamp force is estimated from the difference between the obtained torque levels.

Method and a power tool for error proof screw joint tightening

A method is used for tightening screw joints by a power tool which includes a manually operated trigger for controlling power supply to the power tool, and a power shut-off mechanism for automatic discontinuation of the power tool operation as a predetermined tightening level is reached. The method includes continuously indicating a position of the trigger, indicating a status of the power shut-off mechanism, and disabling the power tool in an inoperative state for a predetermined time if the trigger is indicated as inactivated without the shut-off mechanism being indicated as activated.

METHOD FOR DETECTING IF A FASTENER IS ALREADY TIGHTENED

A method detects whether a fastener is already tightened using a tightening tool with a pulse mechanism. The method includes placing the tightening tool on the fastener, and accelerating rotational parts of the tightening tool. The rotational speed of the rotational parts is limited to a first rotational threshold value in revolutions per minute during an initial tightening phase, the first rotational threshold value being set to be in a range of 20% to 80% of a second rotational threshold value in revolutions per minute needed in a secondary tightening phase to provide a target fastening value for the fastener. And it is detected whether a pulse occurs during the initial tightening phase, the initial tightening phase being measured from a moment when the rotational parts are accelerated.

ADAPTIVE RADIAL SEAL REGULATOR

Improved radial pneumatic regulator systems, devices and methods are described herein. Embodiments may comprise regulators with adaptive radial seals to prevent air leakage, provide increased air supply use efficiency, and facilitate more efficient manufacture and assembly of systems. The regulator systems may be used in applications such as for pneumatic power tools.
