A clutch includes first and second sheaves, the first sheave including a housing with a slot. A bar is inserted within the slot and a bolt engaged with a threaded opening in the bar and tensioned such that it presses against the second sheave forcing it outwardly against a biasing force. The bar may include two end portions with different widths for two different types of clutches, each end portion including a threaded opening. The clutch may include a slider mounted to the second sheave and positioned with the slot. The bar may include a recess on a bottom surface providing clearance for the slider.

CLUTCH PACK PRE-BUILD FIXTURE AND INSTALLATION TOOL

A tool for assembling components of a clutch pack coaxially about an axis includes a base, a first guide member, and a second guide member. The first guide member is coupled to the base and has a first guide face configured to matingly engage a toothed portion of an inner clutch plate of the clutch pack. A top portion of the first guide face is radially inward of a bottom portion of the first guide face. A second guide member is coupled to the base and spaced apart from the first guide member. The second guide member has a second guide face configured to matingly engage the toothed portion of the inner clutch plate of the clutch pack. A top portion of the second guide face is radially inward of a bottom portion of the second guide face.

A clutch brake removal tool configured to facilitate the removal of a single piece clutch brake from an input shaft. The clutch brake removal tool includes a rectangular shaped body having a plurality of walls forming a hollow interior volume. The body includes a first sidewall and a second sidewall and further includes a first end and a second end. The body has an opening at the second end providing access to the interior volume. The second end of the body has a leading edge wherein the leading edge is formed in a semicircular shaft so as to mateably abut against an input shaft. The first sidewall includes a first slot formed therein wherein the second end of the first slot is contiguous with the opening of the body. The second sidewall includes a second slot formed identical to the first slot and located on the opposing sidewall.

Mounting device and method for the counterforce-free mounting of a pressure plate assembly on a counterpressure plate, and method for counterforce-free dismounting

A mounting device (11) for the counterforce-free mounting of a pressure plate assembly (1) on a counterpressure plate, the mounting plate having at least one release element (12) which can be displaced in an axial direction (A) relative to the pressure plate assembly and which is designed to exert an axial force on spring washer tongues (10) of the pressure plate assembly (1) in order to release the pressure plate assembly (1), which is normally engaged, and having at least one hook element (18) that is designed to engage behind a coupling lid (2) of the pressure plate assembly (1) in order to hold the mounting device (11) in place relative to the pressure plate assembly (1) at least in an axial direction when the release element (12) exerts axial force on the spring washer tongues (10) of the pressure plate assembly (1). A corresponding method for the counterforce-free mounting of the pressure plate assembly (1) and a corresponding method for the counterforce-free dismounting of the pressure plate assembly (1) are also provided.

A removal tooling for a clutch of a gearbox includes an upper bracket, a lower bracket, a main screw and a pulling claw. The upper bracket has a middle portion vertically provided with threaded holes, and a bottom surface fixedly connected with connecting posts distributed at equal angular distances around an axis of the threaded hole. The lower bracket has a main body fixedly connected to a lower end of the connecting post, and a circumference of the main body has cantilevers distributed at equal angular distances around the axis of the threaded hole. The main screw penetrates through the threaded hole from top to bottom. There are a plurality of pulling claws which are fixed on a bottom surface of the cantilever in one-to-one correspondence, and a lower end of the pulling claw forms a claw portion which is buckled inward.

Truck clutch brake cutter
10245654 · 2019-04-02 ·

A clutch brake cutter for removing a disk-shaped clutch brake from off an input shaft that couples a truck engine to a transmission includes one or more cutting tools and employs a method of clamping and axially compressing a solid or multilayer clutch brake during the cutting operation. In some examples, the clutch brake cutter first guides a drill bit radially from an outer peripheral edge to an inner peripheral edge of the clutch brake. The resulting hole has a diameter that is less than the disk thickness of the clutch brake. Next, the clutch brake cutter guides a chisel lengthwise through the predrilled hole to split the hole open. The drilling and chiseling operation is repeated at an opposite location on the clutch brake to separate the clutch into at least two pieces that can be readily removed from the input shaft without having to first remove the transmission.
