Adjustable pliers

Adjustable pliers includes a first plier half, a second plier half coupled to the first plier half, and a stud disposed in a slot of the second plier half. The first plier half includes a first handle and a first working tip opposite the first handle. The second plier half includes a second handle and second working tip opposite the second handle. The slot extends along a path from a first end of the path to a second end of the path, the path extends in a first direction at the first end of the path and extending in a second direction substantially parallel to the first direction at the second end of the path. A performance parameter is defined, at least in part, by a relationship between dimensions of the slot or of the second working tip.

A hand tool may include a head section which may include a top jaw and a bottom jaw, a handle section which may include a top handle and a bottom handle, a joint assembly which may operably couple the head section to the handle section, a pin assembly which may include a first pin disposed at a distal end of the top jaw and a second pin disposed at a distal end of the bottom jaw, and a gripping assembly which may include a first gripping surface disposed at the top jaw proximate to the first pin and a second gripping surface disposed at the bottom jaw proximate to the second pin. The first and second gripping surfaces may grip objects therebetween responsive to the top jaw and the bottom jaw moving towards each other.

CIRCLIP PLIERS WITH IMPROVED DESIGN

A hand tool includes a head section which may include a top jaw and a bottom jaw, a handle section which may include a top handle and a bottom handle, a joint assembly which may operably couple the head section to the handle section, and a pin assembly which may include a first pin disposed at a distal end of the top jaw and a second pin disposed at a distal end of the bottom jaw. A high friction surface may be disposed over at least a portion of the first and second pins.

DISPOSAL SNAP RING INSTALLATION TOOL
20190160640 · 2019-05-30 ·

The present invention provides a disposal snap ring installation tool that enables a consumer to easily install a disposal snap ring. The disposal snap ring installation tool includes a body and a handle. The body includes a base and an arm. At least a portion of the handle extends angularly downwardly and outwardly relative to the outer wall of the base. The base is operable to be inserted into a circumferential gap in a disposal snap ring. The arm is operable to receive an end of the disposal snap ring such that one end of the disposal snap ring abuts one of the first end wall and the second end wall of the base. The base is operable to be removed from the circumferential gap in the disposal snap ring by pulling the handle radially outwardly in a plane of the disposal snap ring.

A plier assembly comprising first and second handle assemblies each comprising a frame assembly, a support block, a tip assembly, a proximal pin, and a distal pin. A main hinge assembly supports the second handle assembly for movement relative to the first handle assembly. The proximal openings are sized and dimensioned such that, as the second handle assembly moves relative to the first handle assembly, longitudinal axes of the support block are substantially parallel.

Snap ring manipulation tool

A snap ring manipulation tool for installation and removal of snap rings includes a frame that comprises a pair of members. The members are opposing, such that a first end of one member opposes a second end of the other. Each of a pair of first holes is positioned through a respective member proximate to the first end. Each of a pair of rods is fixedly coupled to a respective member proximate to the second end. The rod is slidably positionable through an opposing first hole. A biaser is operationally coupled to each member. Each of a pair of first tips is coupled to and extends from a first side of the frame. The frame positions the first tips for insertion into the complementary orifices of the snap ring. The biaser is positioned to diverge and converge the members to respectively widen and narrow the snap ring.

Method and Tool for Engaging and Disengaging Insulator Cotter Keys
20190099867 · 2019-04-04 ·

A tool to remove or insert cotter keys in insulator bells having an L-shaped handle, with at least one depression on a generally flat butt end surface of the handle, a generally cylindrical rigid L-shaped member extending from the distal portion of the handle that terminates at a distal end in a second generally cylindrical tab having a smaller cross section than that of the rigid member. The method involves leveraging the member on an insulator cap while the tab is in a cotter key or for insertion, pressing the handle butt end at a depression against the key. The handle may be formed of two halves, be a unified body of synthetic material, be pliable and have an ergonomic shape, and the tab can be any of a variety of cross sectional shapes. The handle and extension may also be integrally formed and be made of similar materials.
