A process of setting a front end-side retaining ring at a small diameter part of a ring temporary holding jig. A process of causing the ring temporary holding jig to temporarily hold the front end-side retaining ring by using a first ring press member. A process of attaching the ring temporary holding jig to a shaft. A process of transferring the front end-side retaining ring from a large diameter part of the ring temporary holding jig to a first outer peripheral surface of the shaft by using a second ring press member including a dimension shorter than a dimension of the first ring press member. A process of sliding the front end-side retaining ring on the first outer peripheral surface of the shaft to assemble the front end-side retaining ring in the ring groove by using the second ring press member.

Flexible implement positioner

A flexible implement positioner that is lockably installable around abutting flanges of abutting tubes enables an implement, such as a temperature gauge, to be desirably positioned near the joint between the abutting flanges and enable the implement to monitor the joint between the flanges. The implement positioner includes a plurality of body segments hingedly connected to one another in an end to end relationship, with one end including a lock body segment and the opposite end including a lock body segment having a lock lever hingedly mounted thereon, the lock lever positionable in engagement with the lock body segment and pivotal to lockably engage the lock lever when installing the implement positioner on one of the flanges.

ROBOTIC GROMMET INSTALLERS AND METHODS OF INSTALLING GROMMETS

A robotic grommet installer includes a robotic arm and an installation unit. The installation unit includes a rotary grommet holder rotatively coupled to the robotic arm and an installer coupled to the robotic arm. The rotary grommet holder includes a plurality of grommet chambers spaced circumferentially about a rotational axis of the rotary grommet holder. Each grommet chamber of the plurality of grommet chambers is configured to hold a plurality of grommets. The installer is configured to retrieve a grommet from the rotary grommet holder, wherein the rotary grommet holder is configured to rotate to align the installer with an available grommet positioned within one of the plurality of grommet chambers.

CLAMP ASSEMBLIES AND METHODS OF USE

A clamping assembly sized to clamp adjacent body panels of a vehicle together for an assembly operation includes a handle assembly including a handle that rotates in a first plane about a pivot location. A jaw assembly includes a first jaw structure that moves relative to a second jaw structure in a second plane parallel to the first plane. A linkage assembly operably connects the handle assembly and the jaw assembly using an actuation pin such that rotating the handle assembly in the first plane moves first jaw structure toward and away from the second jaw structure in the second plane between open and closed configurations by extending and retracting the actuation pin relative to the second jaw structure.

Systems and methods for inserting and removing bushing assemblies

A bushing displacing system comprising an engaging member and a brace member. The engaging member is configured to engage the brace assembly to displace the engaging member in the displacement direction and at least a portion of the bushing assembly to displace at least a portion of the bushing assembly in the displacement direction. The brace member is adapted to engage the brace assembly and the structural member. Operation of the actuator displaces at least one of the brace assembly and the engaging member in the displacement direction relative to the structural member such that the engaging member displaces at least a portion of the bushing assembly towards a desired position relative to the housing opening in the structural member.
