A gas spring for an impacting device includes at least a cylinder, a piston, a seal, an and anvil for delivery of an impact. In an operational cycle, the piston may be moved to an energized position and thereafter released from the de-energized position. The gas pressure within the cylinder is preferably at least 200 psia. The cylinder may also include a safety valve rated to vent the cylinder pressure at a minimum of 150% of the original cylinder pressure. The piston volume may be less than 80% of the swept volume, and the piston may comprise a flange that has less than 90% of the cross sectional area of the cylinder. In an embodiment, the maximum kinetic energy of the piston never exceeds 30% of the cyclic potential energy of the gas spring.
DRIVER
A driver has: a wheel that is rotationally driven by an electric motor; pins provided to the wheel and arranged along a circumferential direction of the wheel; a piston reciprocably housed in a cylinder; a driver blade that integrally reciprocates with the piston; racks provided to the driver blade along an axial direction of the driver blade; and a controller configured to control a drive of the electric motor by PWM. The controller changes a duty ratio of the switching element provided on a power supply line for the electric motor in response to a change in remaining battery level as one of situations that affects a moving speed of the piston from the bottom dead point side to the top dead point side.
Firing control device for a pneumatic tool
A firing control device for use in a pneumatic tool includes a flow path unit, a conditioning valve and a switch valve. The flow path unit is connected to a main. chamber and an operating chamber of the pneumatic tool. The conditioning valve blocks fluid communication between the main chamber and the operating chamber via the flow path unit. When the switch valve is activated, the pressure in the casing is permitted to move the conditioning valve. The conditioning valve is moved to permit the fluid communication between the main chamber and the operating chamber via the flow path unit when the switch valve is continuously activated by a predetermined time period.
Driving tool
A driving tool comprises a cylinder extending in an up-down direction and a piston that moves downward within the cylinder due to a compressed gas to drive a driving member. The driving tool further comprises a main body housing that houses the cylinder and a grip extending rearward from a rear surface of the main body housing. The driving tool further comprises an upper chamber that is provided above the cylinder and communicates with the cylinder. The driving tool further comprises an air chamber that extends downward from the upper chamber and that extends only in an area on a right or left side of the main body housing with respect to both an axis center of the cylinder and an axis center of the grip.
POWERED FASTENER DRIVER
A fastener driver includes a housing, a cylinder disposed within the housing, a piston positioned and moveable within the cylinder, and a driver blade. The driver blade includes a body defining a first end having an aperture defined therein, a second end opposite the first end, and a plurality of teeth between the first and second ends. The aperture is sized to receive a fastener to attach the driver blade to the piston. The driver blade is moveable with the piston from a first position toward a second position along a longitudinal axis during a fastener driving operation. A nosepiece at least partially defining a fastener driving track through which fasteners are driven. A total length of the fastener driver as measured between a distal end of the nosepiece and a distal end of the cylinder is less than 11.4 inches (289.6 mm).
PNEUMATIC NAIL GUN AND A NAIL-STRIKING PIN DEVICE THEREOF
A pneumatic nail gun includes a main body, a cylinder, a muzzle device, a lifting wheel, a piston, a lifting rod, and a nail-striking pin. The piston is movable between a striking position and a non-striking position. The lifting rod is connected to the piston, and has an engaging portion that is engaged with the lifting wheel such that rotation of the lifting wheel drives the piston to the non-striking position, and that is disengaged from the lifting wheel such that the piston is driven by air pressure inside the cylinder to the striking position. The nail-striking pin is connected removably and co-movably to the piston, is spaced apart from the lifting rod, and is adapted for striking a nail when the piston is at the striking position.
DRIVING DEVICE FOR ELECTRIC NAIL GUN
A driving device for a nail gun includes a striking unit and an air storage unit. The striking unit includes a striking cylinder connected to the nail gun and defining a cylinder chamber having an opening, and a piston disposed in and making an air-tight contact with the striking cylinder. The air storage unit includes an air storage cylinder including a protrusion that protrudes toward the opening and cooperating with the striking cylinder to define an air storage chamber that is in fluid communication with the cylinder chamber via the opening. When the piston moves in a pressure-generating direction, air in the air storage chamber is pressurized. The air storage unit further includes a lubricant disposed in the cylinder chamber and the air storage chamber, and flowing along the protrusion into the cylinder chamber to lubricate the piston.
Lifter mechanism for a powered fastener driver
A powered fastener driver includes a driver blade movable from a top-dead-center position to a bottom-dead-center position for driving a fastener into a workpiece, a drive unit for providing torque to move the driver blade toward the top-dead-center position, and a rotary lifter engageable with the driver blade. The lifter having a body and a drive pin coupled to the body. A roller is positioned on the drive pin and engages with a tooth of the driver blade when moving the driver blade from the bottom-dead-center position toward the top-dead-center position. The roller includes a first engagement section that receives an end portion of the tooth and a second engagement section. An engagement member engages the second engagement section for aligning the first engagement section of the roller with the end portion of the tooth to facilitate meshing between the end portion of the tooth and the roller.
POWERED FASTENER DRIVER
A powered fastener driver includes a housing, a cylinder within the housing, the cylinder containing a pressurized gas, a piston within the cylinder and movable from a top-dead-center position to a bottom-dead-center position, a driver blade movably coupled to the piston, a lifter, a drive unit configured to provide torque to the lifter, and a sensor. The driver blade has a plurality of teeth defining a predetermined number of edges. The sensor is configured to detect an edge of one or more of the plurality of teeth and a controller in communication with the drive unit and the sensor. The controller is configured to count a number of edges detected by the sensor, compare the number of detected edges to the predetermined number of edges, and stop the drive unit when the number of detected edges is less than the predetermined number of edges.
