DRIVING TOOL

A driving tool comprises a cylinder extending in an up-down direction and a piston that moves downward within the cylinder due to a compressed gas to drive a driving member. The driving tool further comprises a main body housing that houses the cylinder and a grip extending rearward from a rear surface of the main body housing. The driving tool further comprises an upper chamber that is provided above the cylinder and communicates with the cylinder. The driving tool further comprises an air chamber that extends downward from the upper chamber and that extends only in an area on a right or left side of the main body housing with respect to both an axis center of the cylinder and an axis center of the grip.

A driver includes: a pressure chamber and a striking portion actuated in a direction of striking a fastener when compressed gas is supplied to the pressure chamber, and can select a single firing and a continuous firing; a switching mechanism having a first actuated state to actuate the striking portion in the direction when the single firing is selected and a second actuated state to block the striking portion from being actuated in the direction when the continuous firing is selected; and a control unit configured to switch the switching mechanism from the first actuated state to the second actuated state when a predetermined time elapses in a state where the continuous firing is selected and the switching mechanism is in the first actuated state. The control unit stops the power supply to the switching mechanism for at least part of a period of time when the predetermined time elapses.

Gas spring-powered fastener driver

A gas spring-powered fastener driver includes a cylinder, a moveable piston, a driver blade attached to the piston, the driver blade movable with the piston, a lifter including a rotary component operably coupled to the driver blade to move the driver blade from a driven position to a ready position, and a multi-stage planetary transmission. The transmission includes an output shaft operatively coupled to the lifter to provide torque thereto, a first bearing supporting a first portion of the output shaft for rotation, a second bearing supporting a second portion of the output shaft for rotation. The fastener driver also includes a housing having a cylinder support portion in which the cylinder is received and a transmission housing portion in which the first and second bearings are received to rotatably support the output shaft. The cylinder support portion and the transmission housing portion are integrally formed as a single piece.

An electric nail gun includes a nail-striking subunit that is adapted to strike a nail, a lifting wheel that is movable to become engageable and not engageable with the nail-striking subunit, a driving member that is rotatable by a motor, and a transmission shaft that is movably connected between the driving member and the lifting wheel, and that is convertible between a first position, where the lifting wheel is engageable with the nail-striking subunit such that rotation of the driving member results in movement of the nail-striking subunit, and a second position, where the lifting wheel is not engageable with the nail-striking subunit such that rotation of the driving member does not result in movement of the nail-striking subunit.

GAS SPRING-POWERED FASTENER DRIVER WITH PRESSURE MECHANISM

A gas spring-powered fastener driver includes a cylinder, a storage chamber cylinder having pressurized air in communication with the cylinder, a moveable piston positioned within the cylinder, a driver blade extending from a first side of the piston and movable therewith between a top-dead-center position and a bottom-dead-center position, a one-way seal carried onboard the piston and disposed between the piston and the cylinder, the one-way seal being configured permit a bypass flow of pressurized air from the first side of the piston, past the one-way seal, and into a space within the cylinder adjacent an opposite, second side of the piston during movement of the piston and driver blade from the top-dead-center position to the bottom-dead-center position, thereby increasing a pressure of the pressurized air within the cylinder and storage chamber cylinder, and a pressure relief valve in fluid communication with the storage chamber cylinder.

IMPROVEMENTS IN, OR RELATING TO, TRIGGER VALVES FOR PRESSURISED FLUID OPERATED DEVICES

An actuation trigger for a device, comprising or including, A dose chamber to hold a charge of high pressure working fluid, received from a high pressure source, A dose valve, biased closed to seal the dose chamber off from a working chamber, and hold the charge in the dose chamber, A hammer operated by a piston with a driven chamber on a first side of the piston, and a trigger chamber on a second side of the piston, sealed from the first side, the driven chamber receiving high pressure working fluid directly or indirectly from the high pressure source, A trigger valve to selectively supply high pressure working fluid to the trigger chamber, or to release high pressure working fluid from the trigger chamber, Such that when the hammer has high pressure working fluid in both the driven chamber and the trigger chamber it is held by a force imbalance in a first position, and when the high pressure working fluid is released from the trigger chamber, the hammer is driven to, or towards a second position towards the trigger chamber, The hammer, when driven to, or towards the second position strikes the dose valve, unseating the dose valve to unseal the dose chamber and the working chamber thus allowing the charge to enter the working chamber to do work therein.

When a driving piston starts moving upward toward its top dead center or starts moving downward, a second engaging portion engageable with a second rack of a driver is configured to receive a force. The second engaging portion of a second wheel is provided with high strength and wear resistance. Because of this configuration, a cost of production and maintenance replacement parts can be reduced, in comparison with a case where a total mechanism, including first engaging portions of a first wheel, is provided with high strength and wear resistance.
