Drill

A drill has a housing, a motor mounted in the housing having a drive spindle, an output spindle rotationally driven by the drive spindle via a torque clutch. The torque clutch slips when the torque across the torque clutch exceeds a predetermined value. The predetermined value of the torque at which the torque clutch starts to slip is adjustable via a torque threshold adjustment mechanism. A sleeve is rotatably mounted on the output spindle. The drive spindle drives the sleeve via a gear system at a same rate and direction as the output spindle so that there is no relative rotation between the sleeve and output spindle when the torque clutch is not slipping and at a different rate and/or direction so that there is relative rotation between the sleeve and output spindle when the torque clutch is slipping.

Hand-held power tool and control method therefor

A hand-held power tool has a tool holder for holding a tool along a working axis. A hammer mechanism has a striker that is moved periodically at an impact rate along the working axis between a turning point in the proximity of the tool and a turning point remote from the tool. A drive control of the hammer mechanism sets the impact rate to a set point value. A vibration absorber has an oscillator that moves along the working axis about a resting position and one or multiple springs that drive the oscillator back into the resting position. A first sensor is used to determine a phase of the motion of the striker. A sensor is used to determine a first phase of a compression point of the hammer mechanism. Another sensor is used to determine a second phase of a turning point in the proximity of the tool, of the hammer mechanism. A damping controller adapts the set point value in such a way that a phase difference between the first phase and the second phase is less than a threshold value.

Electric motor driven tool for orthopedic impacting

An orthopedic impacting tool including a motor, an energy storage chamber, a striker, and an anvil. The motor stores energy in the energy storage chamber and then releases it, causing the striker to apply a controlled force on an adapter to create a precise impact for use in a surgical setting. The tool may further comprise a combination anvil and adapter. Alternatively, the tool may comprise a gas spring assembly system for generating an impact force. The tool further allows forward or backward impacting for expanding the size or volume of the opening or for facilitating removal of a broach, implant, or other surgical implement from the opening. An energy adjustment control of the tool allows a surgeon to increase or decrease the impact energy. A light source and hand grips improve ease of operation of the tool.

Hand-Held Machine Tool

A machine tool includes a tool holder and a pneumatic striking mechanism that includes, on a working axis, an exciter piston, a beater, and a pneumatic chamber disposed between the exciter piston and the beater. The exciter piston is drivable by the motor and includes a pot-shaped base body, a seal ring, and a tube-shaped cladding body. The pot-shaped base body has a lateral wall enclosing the working axis and a collar which protrudes in a radial direction. The tube-shaped cladding body is disposed on the pot-shaped base body surrounding the lateral wall. A groove is defined between the collar and the tube-shaped cladding body and the seal ring is disposed in the groove.

A rotary hammer includes a spindle that rotates, a reciprocation mechanism including a piston within the spindle and operable to create a variable pressure air spring within the spindle, an anvil within the spindle for reciprocation in response to the pressure of the air spring, the anvil imparting axial impacts to a tool bit, a port in one of the spindle or the piston, and a closure movable relative to the port between a first position, in which the closure member seals the port and an interior volume of the spindle between the piston the anvil is sealed to develop the variable pressure air spring, and a second position, in which the closure member is spaced apart from the port and the interior volume of the spindle between the piston and the anvil is unsealed and unable to develop the variable pressure air spring.

PERCUSSION TOOL

A percussion tool including a parking assembly movable relative to a spindle. The parking assembly includes a seat coupled to the spindle, a first shuttle portion movable relative to an outer surface of the spindle, a biasing member positioned between the seat and the first shuttle portion, a second shuttle portion movable relative to the outer surface of the spindle, a bushing positioned within the spindle and configured to receive a portion of an anvil, and a fastener that couples the second shuttle portion to the bushing. The first shuttle portion and the second shuttle portion are movable together between a working position, in which a plurality of radial air vents in the spindle is closed, and an idle position, in which the plurality of radial air vents is open. The biasing member is configured to bias the first shuttle portion and the second shuttle portion into the idle position.

Vibrations resulting from a reciprocating piston and vibrations resulting from a rotating crank shaft are reduced effectively. A housing for a hammer drill accommodates, at a position at which a cap closes a supply port, a counterweight movable in cooperation with a crank mechanism to reduce vibrations in a striking axis direction resulting from a reciprocating piston, and a second counterweight rotatable in cooperation with the crank mechanism to reduce vibrations in a rotational direction resulting from a crank shaft.

A hand-held electric hammer includes a handle arrangement on a tool carrier shank in which a striking mechanism actuated by an electric motor is accommodated and at the lower end of which a tool holder is arranged, which is suitable for receiving a tool attachment in the form of a spade blade, a demolition chisel, or a PVC scraper. The handle arrangement is designed as a T-shaped T-handle seated on the tool carrier shank, so that on both sides of the tool carrier shank there are two handles for both a left and a right hand of a user, whereby in the lower half of the tool carrier shank an additional handle stub is attached protruding in parallel with the T-handle from the tool carrier shank, which allows the electric hammer to be gripped with one hand on the T-handle and with the other hand on the additional handle stub.
