CHISEL HAMMER

A power tool adapted to impart axial impacts to a tool bit includes a housing having a motor housing portion and a handle portion extending transversely from the motor housing portion, an electric motor supported in the motor housing portion and defining a motor axis, a non-rotatable barrel extending from the motor housing portion and defining a barrel axis parallel to the motor axis, a reciprocation drive assembly coupled to the electric motor and configured to convert torque from the electric motor to reciprocating motion of a piston received within the barrel for reciprocation therein along the barrel axis, a striker received within the barrel for reciprocation in response to the reciprocation of the piston, and an anvil at least partially received within the barrel and positioned between the striker and tool bit.

The anvil communicates axial impacts to the tool bit in response to reciprocation of the striker.

Hand-held power tool

The hand-held power tool has a tool socket, a motor and a pneumatic striking mechanism. The striking mechanism has an exciter driven by the motor along a working axis, a striker coupled to the exciter via an air cushion, and an intermediate striker arranged between the striker and the tool socket in the striking direction. The striking mechanism also has a guide in which the intermediate striker is guided. The guide has a first sliding surface that guides a first section of the intermediate striker, and a second sliding surface that is arranged offset relative to the first sliding surface in the striking direction and that guides a second section of the intermediate striker. A radial dimension of the first section of the intermediate striker is greater than a radial dimension of the second section of the intermediate striker.

Hand-held power tool

A hand-held power tool, which has a pneumatic impact mechanism with an impact piston that is able to be moved back and forth along a working axis in a guide tube by a pneumatic spring, is characterized in that a cylindrical surface of the impact piston has a plurality of cutouts that are distributed in the circumferential direction, and the cutouts take up at least 30%, at least 50% and/or at least 70% of the circumference of the cylindrical surface of the impact piston.

IMPACT TOOL ANVIL AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE

An anvil for an impact tool including an impact receiving portion at an end of the anvil, the impact receiving portion including a lug having an impact receiving surface that receives impact from a hammer of the rotary power tool, a shank portion extending from the impact receiving portion, a drive portion located at an end of the shank portion opposite from the impact receiving portion, the drive portion including a plurality of drive surfaces configured to engage a tool bit, and a hardened layer formed on at least one of the drive portion or the impact receiving surface, the hardened layer having a higher hardness than a remaining portion of the anvil. The hardened layer is formed by a heating process.

Compact Impacting Apparatus

A compact impacting apparatus includes a spring anvil assembly with a spring, an anvil, and a barrel cam. A cam follower engages the barrel cam to energize the spring anvil assembly. The spring anvil assembly is thereafter released to impact a striker, which striker delivers impact force to an impact target. The spring anvil assembly may be biased in a starting operational position by the weight of the apparatus or the impact target. The spring anvil assembly may be disposed against a rotating pusher plate while engaged by the cam follower. Force of impact may be adjusted by repositioning the pusher plate and or changing the compression of the spring of the spring anvil assembly. The cam follower provides for repeated impacts upon the impact target and the striker holds the impact target in place for effective impacting.
