System and methods for loose debris chip shielding

Methods and devices relating to loose debris chip shielding for dust free tile removal and ordinary tile removal projects. During the tile removal process, a chipping hammer powers a chipping hammer blade that breaks up tiles into pieces. The larger, heavier pieces are simply pushed away, but smaller debris chips break off with enough force to send them flying up in the air and in different directions landing in undesirable locations. The methods and devices herein protect equipment, environments, and individuals from damage caused by loose debris chips during tile removal. A shield with several degrees of freedom moves freely in response to chipping hammer vibrations and blocks loose flying debris chips, deflecting them toward the ground.

A handheld power tool (1) is provided, including a tool holder (2) for receiving and locking a tool (3) on a working axis (4), and including a power tool housing (6). A striking mechanism (8) includes a striker (10) for applying impacts in the impact direction (9) and an anvil (11) for absorbing the impacts and for transmitting the impacts in the impact direction (9) onto the tool (3) accommodated in the tool holder (2). A collar (18) is fastened to the power tool housing (6) and to the anvil (11). When the anvil (11) abuts a rebound impact damper (13) in the impact direction (9), the elastic collar (18) applies a force acting in the impact direction (9) onto the anvil (11).

Work tool

Provided is a work tool that can work suitably in cooperation with an attachment device connected to a main body of the work tool to enhance work efficiency. The work tool includes a main body 2, and a control circuit 71 configured to provide control over the main body 2. The main body 2 includes a motor 3, an end-bit mount portion 10 and an end bit 14 as a work part configured to be driven by the motor 3 to perform a work. A dust collector 100 is connectable to the main body 2 to assist the work. The control circuit 71 is configured to detect whether the dust collector 100 is connected to the main body 2 and change the control over the main body 2 based on whether the connection is established or not.

Clamshell vacuum dust extraction apparatus for a percussive air tool

A vacuum dust extraction apparatus for a percussive air tool contains and extracts workplace dust created by the impacting action of the air tool's implement. The apparatus includes a clamshell adapter constructed as two halves that are oppositely disposed about the air tool's retainer, and joined to enclose the retainer, and a tubular dust bellows fastened to the outboard end of the joined clamshell halves. The clamshell adaptor includes an integral exhaust port, and an industrial vacuum coupled to the exhaust port via a flexible suction/vacuum hose creates suction in the bellows for extracting airborne dust created by percussive action of the implement on a workpiece. Suction loss through the clamshell adaptor is minimized by a sealing element that bridges a gap between the interior periphery of the clamshell adaptor and the exterior periphery of the air tool's retainer.

A power tool, such as an impact driver, includes a motor having a rotor that rotates relative to a stator, and a centrifugal fan that rotates together with the rotor. A motor housing and a rear housing house the motor. Overlapping parts of the motor housing and the rear housing radially surround an outer circumference of the centrifugal fan. Air exhaust ports are defined in each of the overlapping parts and are offset in an axial direction of the rotor. Fluid communication paths are defined between the air exhaust ports in the overlapping parts. The fluid communication paths have an opening area or width in the axial direction that is smaller than an opening area or width in the axial direction of the air exhaust ports.

It is an object of the invention to provide rational structure for vibration proofing in hammering operation. A driving motor 110 and a striking mechanism 140 are provided in a first body element 101a, and a handle 109 and a battery mounting part 160 are provided in a second body element 101b. The first and second body elements 101a, 101b are moved with respect to each other via a biasing member 181 when vibration is caused by driving of the striking mechanism 140. Further, a first region 100a close to the striking mechanism 140 forms a long-distance moving region 200 in which the first and second body elements 101a, 101b move a longer distance in a longitudinal direction than in the second region 100b less close to the striking mechanism 140.
