Described herein is a novel lanyard system for removable pieces connected to and detached from a piece receiver of a power tool. The system includes one or more lanyard assemblies, each with a two ended strap and a retraction system fixed to the tool all in a storage region outside of the tool. In particular, one end of the strap is connected to the piece and the other strap end is connected to one end of the retraction system. The other end of the retraction system is connected to the outside of the tool. The strap is of sufficient length for the retraction system to retract a piece to the storage region outside the tool after disconnection from the piece receiver. It is contemplated that the retraction system includes at least one spring assembly to cause the lanyard system to remain under tension while the piece is mounted in a piece receiver, thereby preventing or at least reducing the strap from interfering with the task at hand, the piece, the piece receiver or tool itself. The retraction system has sufficient tensional force to cause the retraction of a piece to the storage region once released from the work region of the tool.

The present invention is a novel lanyard system for a piece releaseably connected to a tool by a piece receiver that includes a lanyard assembly with a two ended strap and a retraction system fixed to the tool in a storage region of the tool. In particular, one end of the strap is connected to the piece and the other strap end is connected to one end of the retraction system. The other end of the retraction system is connected to the tool. The strap is of sufficient length for the retraction system to retract a piece to the storage region after disconnection from the piece receiver. It is contemplated that the retraction system includes at least one spring (coil or helical) to cause the lanyard system to remain under tension while the piece is mounted in a piece receiver, thereby preventing or at least reducing the strap from interfering with the task at hand, the piece, the piece receiver or tool itself. The retraction system has sufficient tensional force to cause the retraction of a piece to the storage region once released from the work region of the tool.

Power tool with storage system

A power tool including a housing comprising a handle section and a motor housing section, a longitudinal axis of the handle section being at an offset angle with respect to a longitudinal axis of the motor housing section. A motor is housed in the motor housing section. An output member selectively driven by the motor. A user actuatable trigger activates the motor and an attachment unit is removably coupled to the power tool. The handle runs from a first end to a second end. The first end is adjacent to the motor housing section and the second end is adjacent to a connection section. The attachment unit is removably coupled to the power tool at the connection section.

Fastener for installation tool for roof truss framing and construction system

An installation tool fastener is particularly adapted for fastening a top plate to a roof support member and other structural connections and is particularly adapted for use with an installation tool. The installation tool fastener has a head with a maximum head diameter and a recess for coupling with a drive coupler. The shank of the head has an unthreaded portion and a uniform thread which has a major diameter approximately equal to the maximum diameter of the head. The head preferably has a slight taper. The thread preferably has a 7.5 thread per inch pitch and a thread angle from approximately 25 to 45. In one embodiment for a 6 inch fastener, the thread length is approximately 5 inches and extends along the tapered distal tip.

Dust collector and power tool

A dust collector includes body, a dust-storing part, a sliding part, a dust-transfer passage, and a biasing member. The sliding part is held by the body to be slidable in a specified axial direction and has a suction port. The dust-transfer passage connects the suction port and the dust-storing part. The biasing member biases the sliding part in a first direction of the axial direction. The sliding part is configured to be normally held in an initial position in which the sliding part protrudes from the body by a specified length in the first direction, and to be moved in a second direction opposite to the first direction against the biasing force when pressed in the second direction. The dust collector includes a cushioning member configured to be interposed between the body and the sliding part in the axial direction when the sliding part is placed in the initial position.

ROTARY TOOL

A rotary tool assembly includes a main body, a motor disposed in the main body, and a power source coupled to the main body. The power source being configured to provide electrical power to the motor. A rotary tool attached to the main body. The rotary tool configured to be actuated by the motor. A first bit storage area disposed on the main body. The first bit storage area being configured to receive a first bit. A second bit storage area disposed on the main body. The second bit storage area being configured to receive a second bit.

Power tool with chuck key holder

A power tool includes a housing, a motor disposed in the housing, an output spindle extending outward from the housing and configured to be rotationally driven by the motor, a keyed chuck coupled to the output spindle for rotation with the output spindle, and a chuck key holder configured to releasably retain a chuck key with a first shaft with a key disposed thereon for operating the chuck, and a second shaft coupled to the first end portion of the first shaft generally perpendicular to the first shaft, the second shaft including a lever portion. The chuck key holder includes a first recess configured to receive the first shaft and a second recess with a sheath configured to receive the second shaft with the lever portion exposed from the sheath.
