QUICK DISCONNECT ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF USE
A quick disconnect assembly including a tubular housing. The housing includes a cam pin secured to the housing and a nut positioned within the housing cannulation. The nut has a first threaded channel adapted to engage a threaded shaft, a second, non-threaded channel extending at an angle to the first channel, and an arcuate groove formed on an outer surface of the nut. When the cam pin of the housing engages the groove at about a distal end of the nut, the nut is positioned in a loading position where the second channel extends approximately parallel to the longitudinal axis of the housing. When the cam pin engages the groove at about a proximal end of the nut, the nut is positioned in a locking position where the first channel extends approximately parallel to the longitudinal axis of the housing.
TOOL ASSEMBLY COMPRISING UNIVERSAL HANDLE AND INTERCHANGEABLE TOOL HEADS
A tool assembly includes an elongated handle and a locking system for attaching a tool head to the handle. The tool head can be a floor care tool or other accessory that can be attached to the handle such that the elongated length of the handle can aid in the use of the tool attached. The locking system includes a keyed locking collar for engaging at least a first portion of the tool head, and a locking cap rotatably positioned on the handle for engaging a second portion of the tool head. The handle can be extendable, such as by telescoping, and can also be overmolded.

Tool head adapted for removable attachment to a handle
A tool head for easy attachment and detachment to a handle is provided for configurations such as axes, picks, shovels, sledges, hatches, and hoes. The tool head includes two clamps, one clamp being threadingly engaged on a shaft that freely rotates within the tool head. To attach the tool head to a handle, the user rotates the shaft which moves the clamps together and compresses the handle there between first clamp moves towards a second clamp. To detach, the shaft is counter rotated thereby decompressing the handle. When detached from a handle, the clamps turn and nest in two cutouts within the tool head allowing for compact storage or packing. Integrally formed features that include scraper, blade, wrenches, gut hook, cord cutter, carabineer, and the like provide the user in the field needed tools when fashioning a handle from a sapling or stick.
Method for manufacturing a handle for a personal care implement
A method for manufacturing a handle for a personal care implement includes molding from a fiber-reinforced material, preferably by injection-molding, a core-connector unit having a core structure and a connector for attaching and detaching a head to and from the handle, and molding, preferably by injection-molding, a polymeric material onto the core structure to form a component that at last partially covers the core structure.
Torque wrench
The invention relates to a torque wrench, which has a lever tube (3) having a handle (4) and has an indicating body (9) for indicating a set torque. The indicating body can be a scale housing or a scale sleeve. The handle (4) has a connecting piece (18), which points toward the indicating body (9) and which has a groove (19) on the outer periphery. Coupling segments directed toward the connecting piece (18) and having an abutment edge are provided on the indicating body (9). The handle (4) and the indicating body (9) are coupled by means of a locking ring (16). The locking ring (16) has blocking bodies for this purpose, which interact with the groove (19) on the connecting piece (18) and the abutment edges of the coupling segments in a locking manner. The torque wrench according to the invention is distinguished by the modular handle system thereof and enables economical production by means of structurally identical series together with simple assembly processes.

Tool locking mechanism
A locking mechanism for use with a tool has a tool having a first working end, an opposite second end, a central axis therebetween, and a least one axial recess formed on an outer surface of the tool. A cap is rotatably received on the tool opposite second end, the cap comprising at least one recess formed on an outer surface thereon. The cap is rotatable between a first position in which the cap at least one recess aligns with the tool at least one recess, and a second position in which the cap at least one recess is out of alignment with the tool at least one recess. The locking mechanism further comprises a detent operatively positioned between the tool and the cap. The detent may be a pin and a spring, where the spring biases the cap into the second position.
