Maneuvering mobile robots
A method of maneuvering a robot includes driving the robot across a surface and turning the robot by shifting a center of mass of the robot toward a turn direction, thereby leaning the robot into the turning direction. The robot includes an inverted pendulum body, a counter-balance body disposed on the inverted pendulum body and configured to move relative to the inverted pendulum body, at least one leg prismatically coupled to the inverted pendulum body, and a drive wheel rotatably coupled to the at least one leg. The inverted pendulum body has first and second end portions and defines a forward drive direction. The method also includes turning the robot by at least one of moving the counter-balance body relative to the inverted pendulum body or altering a height of the at least one leg with respect to the surface.
Extended reach inspection apparatus
An extended reach inspection apparatus may include a scanner device and a robotic manipulator arm. The robotic manipulator arm may include a plurality of arm segments including a distal end arm segment and a proximal end arm segment. A movable joint may couple the distal end arm segment to the robotic manipulator arm. A telescoping extension mechanism may be coupled to the distal end arm segment. The scanner device is mounted to the telescoping extension mechanism for moving the scanner device between a retracted position proximate the robotic manipulator arm and an extended position at a distance from the robotic manipulator arm. A control handle may be coupled to the proximal end arm segment of the plurality of arm segments for manipulating the robotic manipulator arm.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SUBSTRATE TRANSPORT APPARATUS POSITION COMPENSATION
A substrate transport empiric arm droop mapping apparatus for a substrate transport system of a processing tool, the mapping apparatus including a frame, an interface disposed on the frame forming datum features representative of a substrate transport space in the processing tool defined by the substrate transport system, a substrate transport arm, that is articulated and has a substrate holder, mounted to the frame in a predetermined relation to at least one of the datum features, and a registration system disposed with respect to the substrate transport arm and at least one datum feature so that the registration system registers, in an arm droop distance register, empiric arm droop distance, due to arm droop changes, between a first arm position and a second arm position different than the first arm position and in which the substrate holder is moved in the transport space along at least one axis of motion.
WEARABLE APPARATUS FOR ASSISTING MUSCULAR STRENGTH
A wearable apparatus for assisting muscular strength includes: a main body mechanism extending in a vertical direction of a wearer's torso, and being fixed to a side of a wearer's torso under a wearer's shoulder; a fastening mechanism extending along an extension direction of a wearer's upper arm, and being disposed at and being in contact with a lower surface of the wearer's upper arm; a connecting mechanism having a first end coupled to the fastening mechanism and a second end movably coupled to the main body mechanism so as to be movable with respect to the main body mechanism; and a support mechanism movably coupled between the first end and the second end of the connecting mechanism to apply a support force to the connecting mechanism, and coupled to the main body mechanism and movable with respect thereto.
Robot
A robot including a base having a flat mounting surface section to be set on an installation surface by a fixing part, and also including a movable unit that is movable relative to the base. The base includes a tip-over prevention member that is disposed in a switchable manner between a state where the tip-over prevention member at least protrudes forward from the mounting surface section in a moving direction when a relocating process is performed and a state where the tip-over prevention member does not protrude forward from the mounting surface section.
Floor-to-Height Object Retrieval Robot
Provided is a robot for retrieving objects with different sizes, shapes, weights, placements, configurations, and/or other characteristics from a floor or raised height. The robot may include a motorized base, a lift that raises to a plurality of heights from the base, an upper platform attached over the lift, a vertical extension extending downwards from a frontside of the upper platform and in front of the lift, a lower platform with a proximal end coupled to the vertical extension and a distal end extending in front of the robot and directly over a ground surface on which the motorized base moves when the lift is in a lowered position, and a retriever for retrieving an object onto the lower platform.
Robot
A robot includes a first arm rotatable around a first axis and a second arm having an extending direction. The first arm includes a first base and a first extending portion. The first base includes a first through hole passing through the first arm along the first axis. The first extending portion extends from the first base along the first axis. The second arm includes a second base and a second extending portion. The second base includes a connection portion connected to the first extending portion such that the second arm is rotatable around a second axis that is substantially orthogonal to the first axis. The second base includes a second through hole passing through the second arm along the extending direction. The second extending portion is provided opposite to the connection portion in the extending direction and extends from the second base along the extending direction.
Storage module configured to accelerate transition of inventory carriers between upper and lower tracks
In one embodiment, an storage module has first and second guide rails that are spaced from one another along a lateral direction. Each guiderail has an upper track and a lower track spaced from one another along a vertical direction, and first and second connecting tracks that connect the upper track to the lower track at first and second ends, respectively. A plurality of inventory carriers that are supported between the guiderails and are arranged end-to-end along the upper and lower tracks. A drivetrain drives the carriers to translate along the upper and lower tracks at a first speed, and drives the carriers to translate along the connecting tracks at a second speed, faster than the first speed. Increasing the speed of the carriers at the connecting tracks can prevent the carriers from colliding with one another when transitioning between the upper track and the lower track.
