A device sized and shaped for insertion into a body comprising: at least one mechanical limb comprising: a support segment; a first flexible section extending from the support segment and terminating in a coupling section; and a second flexible section extending from the coupling section and terminating in a tool or a connector for a tool; wherein a long axis of one or more of the flexible sections is bendable in a single bending plane; wherein a long axis length of the first flexible section is at least double a maximum extent of the first flexible section perpendicular to a flexible section long axis; wherein a long axis length of the second flexible section is at least double a maximum extent of the second flexible section perpendicular to a flexible section long axis.
ROBOTIC APPARATUS INTERACTION WITH VEHICLE BASED ON VEHICLE DIMENSION TRANSLATION
Vehicle dimension data describing dimensions of a vehicle are obtained, a robotic apparatus is moved to a position about the vehicle, a reference point of the vehicle is determined, and the robotic apparatus is caused to move to positions about the vehicle based on the reference point. The reference point may be a center point of a selected wheel of the vehicle. A coordinate system of the robotic apparatus is aligned to the reference point of the selected wheel of the vehicle. Based on the aligned coordinate system of the robotic apparatus, operations are performed by the robotic apparatus to remove lug nuts from a wheel hub of the vehicle.
System and method for assisting operator engagement with input devices
A system and method of assisting operator engagement with input devices includes a repositionable structure configured to support a physical input device, a hand detection system, and a control unit. The repositionable structure includes one or more actuators. The physical input device is configured to be operated by a hand of an operator. The control unit is configured to detect the hand of the operator using the hand detection system and in response to a trigger condition, command the one or more actuators to move the input device from a first orientation to a second orientation, wherein the second orientation is closer to a grasping orientation of the hand than the first orientation is to the grasping orientation of the hand.
CONTROLLER FOR ROBOT AND POWER-OUTAGE PROCESSING METHOD
A controller of a robot includes: a voltage detecting portion that detects a power-source voltage input from a power source; and a determining portion that determines, on the basis of the power-source voltage detected by the voltage detecting portion, whether to perform power-outage processing that guarantees the operation, wherein the determining portion includes a first timer that starts a clock at a point in time when the detected power-source voltage becomes equal to or less than a first threshold voltage that guarantees the operation and makes a determination for performing the power-outage processing in the case in which the power-source voltage does not exceed the first threshold voltage before the time measured by the first timer achieves a prescribed time that is longer than one cycle of the power-source voltage.
INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, CONTROL PROGRAM, STORAGE MEDIUM, METHOD OF MANUFACTURING PRODUCT, AND METHOD OF ACQUIRING LEARNING DATA
An information processing method includes causing an information processing apparatus to display a first image on which a plurality of pieces of partial time-series data of a physical quantity regarding a state of a mechanical apparatus are displayed, causing the information processing apparatus to display a second image on which the plurality of pieces of partial time-series data are displayed at intervals different from intervals at which the plurality of pieces of partial time-series data are displayed on the first image, and causing the information processing apparatus to display a first mark marking first partial time-series data that is predetermined one of the plurality of pieces of partial time-series data displayed on the first image and a second mark marking second partial time-series data that is one of the plurality of pieces of partial time-series data displayed on the second image and that corresponds to the first partial time-series data.
CROSSTALK MITIGATION FOR MULTI-CELL WORKSPACE MONITORING
Crosstalk mitigation among cameras in neighboring monitored workcells is achieved by computationally defining a noninterference scheme that respects the independent monitoring and operation of each workcell. The scheme may involve communication between adjacent cells to adjudicate non-interfering camera operation or system-wide mapping of interference risks and mitigation thereof. Mitigation strategies can involve time-division and/or frequency-division multiplexing.
Alarm notification system for robot
An alarm notification system configured to assist an operator so that the operator can effectively carry out a teaching operation, etc. The alarm notification system includes: a storing section configured to, with respect to a past alarm which occurred when a program generated by a teach pendant was executed, store alarm data including a name of the program and a number of a line of the program when the alarm occurred; a judging section configured to judge as to whether or not an alarm prediction condition using the alarm data stored in the storing section is satisfied, when the program is executed again; and an alarm predicting section configured to notify the operator who is carrying out teaching of the robot of alarm information relating to the alarm, when the alarm prediction condition is satisfied.
INSPECTION ROBOTS WITH SWAPPABLE DRIVE MODULES
Inspection robots with swappable drive modules are described. An example inspect robot may include a first removeable interface plate on the side of a robot chassis. The first removable interface plate may couple a first drive module to an electronic board, within the chassis, where the electronic board includes a drive module interface circuit communicatively coupled to the first drive module. The example inspect robot may also include a second removeable interface plate on a side of a robot chassis. The second removable interface plate may couple a second drive module to an electronic board, within the chassis, where the electronic board includes a drive module interface circuit communicatively coupled to the second drive module.
