A utility knife is provided, including: a first housing, a second housing, a blade carrier and a locking mechanism. The first housing includes a shaft disposed thereon and having an axis. The second housing is rotatably mounted to the shaft and includes a first engaging portion. The blade carrier is movably received between the first housing and the second housing, and is operable to move. The locking mechanism is disposed through the second housing and non-rotatable relative to the shaft. The locking mechanism is axially slidable between a locking position and a releasing position along the shaft and rotatable about the axis. When the locking mechanism is in the locking position, the second housing is non-rotatable relative to the first housing; when the locking mechanism is in the releasing position, the second housing is rotatable about the locking mechanism and rotatable relative to the first housing.

An interchangeable different style-blade utility knife includes an elongate handle having proximal and distal ends along a handle axis. A blade holder is provided for supporting a blade and actuating means is provided for selectively attaching and detaching the blade holder to the distal end of the handle at a parting line. The cutting device has a housing assembly, a cutting assembly that is movably disposed in the housing assembly, the cutting assembly being movable in a first axis, between a retracted position and an extended position, and an urging member disposed between the housing assembly and the cutting assembly. The cutting assembly includes a cutting member. The cutting assembly includes an end assembly, which is actuatable in the first axis, and a movable member that is movable relative to the cutting assembly. When the end assembly is actuated, the urging member biases the cutting assembly in the first axis toward the retracted position. When the end assembly is actuated, the end assembly moves the movable member in a second axis that is different from the first axis.

A utility knife (100) includes a body portion (120) including a sleeve portion (124) at a first end thereof and a heel portion (122) at a second end thereof, and a blade (110) that extends from the sleeve portion. The body portion includes a wheel assembly (140) including a wheel (142) rotatably disposed about a hub (146). The wheel is configured to support the utility knife during a cutting operation relative to a material being cut. The wheel is disposed on the hub to enable axial movement of the wheel to change an alignment of the wheel relative to the blade.

The blade and sheath are pivotable with respect to each other. A user can wear the tool on a finger about a finger joint. The user can bend the finger to set the tool to an open condition to expose the blade for use, and can stretching the finger to set the tool to a closed condition to safely shade the blade using the sheath. The tool may further have a housing for fully receiving the blade. The blade may extend out of the housing for use, and may be retracted into the housing for safety.
