Devices, systems, and methods for sterilization, disinfection, sanitization and decontamination
A sterilization, disinfection, sanitization, or decontamination system having a chamber defining a region, and a generator for creating a free radical effluent with reactive oxygen, nitrogen, and other species and/or a vaporizer. A closed loop circulating system without a free-radical destroyer is provided for supplying the mixture of free radicals from the generator mixed with the hydrogen peroxide solution in the form of the effluent to the chamber. The system is used in sterilizing, disinfecting, sanitizing, or decontaminating items in the chamber or room and, with a wound chamber, in treating wounds on a body. The wound chamber may be designed to maintain separation from wounds being treated. Various embodiments can control moisture to reduce or avoid unwanted condensation. Some embodiments can be incorporated into an appliance having a closed space, such as a washing machine. Some embodiments may include a residual coating device that deposits a bactericidal coating on sterilized items.
Ozone injector device
An ozone injector device comprising a housing, a corona tube disposed within the housing and configured to generate ozone, a check-valve removably coupled to the water passageway, a second end of the check-valve having a cavity with a movable float contained therein, an ozone inlet fitting removably coupled to the check-valve, the ozone inlet being in fluid communication with the corona tube via a corona discharge tube such that ozone entering the water passageway through the ozone inlet fitting must pass through the check valve, and a spring-loaded clearing piston positioned to move into and out of the water passageway, the clearing piston being biased upwards, and configured to prevent flow of ozone into the water passageway.
LIGHT-ACTIVATED CHLORINE DIOXIDE-RELEASING POWDER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
Methods of manufacturing a light-activated powder are provided which provide solid-state generation and release of chlorine dioxide without detectable amounts of any toxic by-products such as chlorine gas, chlorites, or chlorates. The powder need not be exposed to moisture, relative humidity, or an acid before or during exposure of the powder to visible light to generate the gas. The powder can also be prepared under conditions that minimize or prevent decomposition or oxidation of sodium chlorite or premature light activation of the powder during the manufacturing process to maximize its activity.
CARTRIDGE BASED AUTO-INJECTOR
The present invention is an auto-injector for the administration and self-administration of drugs by subcutaneous, intramuscular or intra-dermal injection and for drug solutions or suspensions. The auto-injector may comprise three modules for ease of assembly, the modules principally including a standard cartridge module with stopper and septum, a power source and indicator module that pushes against the cartridge stopper pressurizing contents, an injection progress indicator and a needle shuttle comprising of two needles, one needle being the injection needle and one needle being the septum needle. A needle guard ensures that the needle is always covered thus hiding the needle before and after the injection and that prevents needle stick injurie.
SANITIZING CABINET
A sanitizing cabinet system includes ozone distribution passaging in open fluid communication with a sanitizing compartment inside a cabinet. An ozone generator and a sanitizing air mover are located in the ozone distribution passaging. The sanitizing air mover moves air from the sanitizing compartment across the generator to form ozonated air and moves the ozonated air from the ozone distribution passaging into the sanitizing compartment. A control system controls the ozone generator and air mover based on feedback from an ozone sensor indicating ozone exposure over time. An ozone conversion device is mounted on a dividing wall of the cabinet outside the sanitizing compartment. The dividing wall has inlet and outlet holes, and the ozone conversion device has upstream and downstream chambers in communication with the inlet and outlet holes. Selectively openable dampers separate upstream and downstream chambers from an ozone conversion chamber in which ozone conversion catalyst is received.
TEMPERATURE-CONTROLLED DELIVERY BOX WITH SANITIZATION ASSEMBLY AND SECURITY FEATURES
A temperature controlled delivery appliance and a method of operating the same are provided. The temperature-controlled delivery appliance includes a storage container, a climate control system, a sanitization assembly, and a locking mechanism. The sanitization assembly may include an ultraviolet light assembly or an ozone generator that may be selectively activated after a delivery to sanitize the delivered items. The locking mechanism locks the door of the temperature-controlled delivery appliance to prevent user access during a sanitization cycle, as well as to prevent other unauthorized access.
BACTERICIDAL METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS
Methods of the present invention comprise photoinactivation of catalase in combination with low-concentration peroxide solutions and/or ROS generating agents to provide antibacterial effects.
A COMPOSITE MATERIAL AND A METHOD TO PREPARE THE COMPOSITE
The invention relates to a composite material, suitable for treating water. The composite material comprises an active layer and a substrate layer, with the active layer including titanium dioxide and silver nanoparticles. The active layer is bonded to the substrate layer such that, in use, there is substantially no leaching of the active layer into the body of water. The invention further relates to a method of preparing the composite material.
COMPLEX OXIDE CERAMIC, FUNCTIONAL MATERIAL, AND ARTICLE
Provided are a complex oxide ceramic having high antiviral activity, a functional material, and an article provided with the complex oxide ceramic and/or the functional material. The complex oxide ceramic according to one aspect of the present invention is a complex oxide ceramic containing cerium and molybdenum and having antiviral activity. The functional material according to one aspect of the present invention is also a functional material including the complex oxide ceramic mixed with a photocatalyst and/or an antibacterial effect. The article according to one aspect of the present invention is an article having the complex oxide ceramic and/or the functional material on at least a part of the surface thereof.
MEDICAL DEVICE PACKAGING AND RELATED METHODS
A packaging comprising a tray having an opening, a cavity including at least three cavity portions, a plurality of sidewalls, and a base; and a sterile syringe contained within the cavity, wherein the sterile syringe is pre-filled with a medicament or other fluid; wherein a first cavity portion comprises a plunger rod of the sterile syringe, a second cavity portion comprises a barrel of the sterile syringe, and a third cavity portion comprises a needle attachment portion of the sterile syringe, wherein the at least three cavity portions are connected to one another by intermediate narrowed portions, and wherein each of the narrowed portions includes a first sidewall, a second sidewall, a base, and a plurality of geometric features projecting into the narrowed portions to position the sterile syringe away from the plurality of sidewalls.
