There is provided a rotary electric shaver which can easily prevent an outer blade which is undesirable to be brought into contact with a skin from coming into contact with the skin, by reducing the number of contact times of the outer blades in a head with the skin, even when the shaver is used in a state where the head is substantially parallel to the skin. A rotary electric shaver includes a main body having a drive shaft, and a head connected to the main body. At least one of a plurality of blade units has a fulcrum plate, a turning plate, a spring, and a fixing plate, and has a lock mechanism capable of changing a height position of at least one of outer blades corresponding one-to-one to the blade units.

Shaving unit having cutting units with primary pivot axes

A shaving unit for a shaving apparatus includes at least first and second cutting units which respectively include first and second external cutting members having a plurality of hair entry openings respectively defining first and second shaving tracks. The cutting units further include first and second internal cutting members which are rotatable relative to, respectively, the first and the second external cutting members about first and second axis of rotations, respectively. The first cutting unit is pivotal about a first primary pivot axis which, seen in a direction parallel to the first axis of rotation, is arranged between the first shaving track and the second axis of rotation. Similarly, the second cutting unit is pivotal about a second primary pivot axis which, seen in a direction parallel to the second axis of rotation, is arranged between the second shaving track and the first axis of rotation.

A 4 blade electric shaver head adapted to be connected to an electric shaver that includes a handle and an electric motor for operating the shaver head. The head includes four rotary cutters arranged in a square configuration and four holders also arranged in a square configuration. Each of the holders holds one of the cutters. The inner edges of the four holders define a point at the center of the shaver head. A housing for the holders includes an upper surface. The holders are retained by the housing but are mounted for pivotal movement such that the inner edges and outer edges can move up and down. A spring biases the holders in a position wherein the outer edges lie above the upper surface of the housing and wherein the holders slant downwardly toward the center thereby forming a concave shaving surface. The holders are interconnected to each other so as to always pivot in unison.

Hair cutting unit having a coupling structure

A hair cutter of a shaving device has a support with a skin contacting surface, and a retainer releasably couplable to the support by a coupler to retain an external cutter in an operational/assembled condition of the hair cutter. A retained element of the external cutter is retained between a first retaining member of the retainer and a second retaining member of the support where, in response to manually turning the retainer relative to the support, the shaving surface protrudes relative to the skin contacting surface in the axial direction over an exposure distance. The coupler has a first guide on the support and a second guide on the retainer. The first and second guides mutually engage resulting from manually turning the retainer relative to the support when the retainer is in any angular position between first and second angular positions about the axis of rotation relative to the support.

Beard trimmer

A beard trimmer having a handle, a motor and a head portion. The head portion comprises at least a first long hair cutter unit for trimming hair that is provided with a first outer cutter and a first inner cutter.

Rotary shaver with improved support structure for shaving heads

A shaving device comprises a head structure (2) and a base structure (4). The head structure (2) is configured to retain and support at least one shaving head (30A, 30B, 30C). The head structure (2) is releasably retainable on the base structure (4). The base structure (4) is free of support elements in an area of an outer circumference of the head structure (2) such that the head structure (2), when coupled to the base structure (4), is not supported in the area of its outer circumference. The head structure (2), when coupled to the base structure (4), is substantially only retained on the base structure (4) by a retaining force provided by a retaining structure of the base structure (4). When an overloading force is exerted on the head structure (2), the force is transferred to a coupling element (8) arranged in a central area (2A) of the head structure (2) such that the coupling element (8) is released from the retaining structure of the base structure (4) in order to prevent damage to the head structure (2).

There is provided a rotary electric shaver which includes an external outer blade having a plurality of hair inlet holes on an annular shaving surface, an internal outer blade, a rotationally driven external inner blade having a plurality of small blades coming into sliding contact with a rear surface of the external outer blade, a rotationally driven internal inner blade, an external inner blade rest base, and an internal inner blade rest base. The external outer blade has a cylindrical guide ring formed on an inner peripheral side of an inner wall portion, and the external inner blade has a plurality of guides which come into sliding contact with an inner peripheral surface of the guide ring to perform radial alignment with respect to the external outer blade.

Shaving apparatus with detachable cutting unit

A shaving apparatus has at least one cutting unit detachably coupled to a drive mechanism via a coupling having first and second coupling members. The second coupling member has a coupling cavity. A coupling head of the first coupling member is in a form-locking engagement in the coupling cavity to transfer a driving force, and is detachable from the coupling cavity by movement in an axial direction parallel to an axis of rotation of the cutting unit. The second coupling member has a plurality of recesses, each recess extending in a radial direction from the coupling cavity and being delimited by two radially extending side wall sections. Each of the two radially extending side wall sections forms an edge with a bottom surface of the second coupling member, and the edges of each recess converge in a radially outward direction in relation to the axis of rotation.
