A system for systematically disinfecting shopping carts and other items includes an arch through which shopping carts or other items may be passed and disinfected. For disinfecting, carts are pushed through a passageway defined by the arch while nozzles positioned in the arch are actuated to dispense a disinfecting fluid. A fine mist of disinfecting fluid envelopes all surfaces of the cart as it passes through the passageway, thereby sanitizing the entire surface area of the cart with a reduction or elimination of residue accumulation. When spraying is deactivated, at least one solenoid is controlled to depressurize the tubing connected to the nozzles.

APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR TREATMENT USING NON-THERMAL PLASMA
20210385933 · 2021-12-09 ·

An array of non-thermal plasma emitters is controlled to emit plasma based on application of an electric current at desired frequencies and a controlled power level. A power supply for an array controller includes a transformer that operates at the resonant frequency of the combined capacitance of the array and the cable connecting the array to the power supply. The power into the array is monitored by the controller and can be adjusted by the user. The controller monitors reflected power characteristics, such as harmonics of the alternating current, to determine initiation voltage of the plasma and/or resonant frequency plasma emitters. The array of non-thermal plasma emitters may be used in therapeutic, diagnostic, and/or medical sanitization applications, including where a non-thermal plasma treatment regimen is prescribed.

PORTABLE SANITIZING ARRANGEMENT
20210379219 · 2021-12-09 ·

A portable sanitizing arrangement is disclosed comprising essentially a protective case for a mobile productivity device such as a smartphone together with an ultraviolet light source for convenient disinfecting of high-touch objects and surfaces. The arrangement further comprises user controls and interfaces to enable the ultraviolet light source to safely emit light at wavelengths known to kill and destroy bacterial and viral species among other potentially harmful microorganisms. The sanitizing arrangement may irradiate the mobile productivity device itself as well as commonly encountered objects and surfaces in work, travel, entertainment and home environments with substantially greater ease and convenience and at potentially lower cost than with known sanitizing devices and methods.

SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR GAMING DEVICES HAVING STERILIZATION FEATURES
20210379221 · 2021-12-09 ·

The present disclosure includes, systems, devices, and methods for sterilizing objects, such as gaming equipment or gaming pieces. Some aspects include a sterilization device configured to be integrate with, or coupled to, gaming equipment to sterilize a plurality of gaming pieces. The device may include a housing defining a chamber configured to receive a plurality of gaming pieces and one or more light source(s) coupled to the housing and configured to emit ultraviolet (UV) light toward the gaming pieces.

ANTI-MICROBIAL AGENT TO CONTROL BIOMASS ACCUMULATION IN SO2 SCRUBBERS
20210368792 · 2021-12-02 ·

A method for removing or preventing a microbial growth, biofilm, biomass and/or mineral deposit on a hard surface inside an SO.sub.2 scrubber is disclosed. In particular, biocide compositions may be dosed in pulse or continuously for the reduction and prevention of biofilms on the hard surfaces inside an SO.sub.2 scrubber. A biocide composition disclosed here uses one or more non-oxidizing biocides, especially a mixture of one or more quaternary ammonium compounds and one or more other biocides.

SANITIZATION DEVICES

In some examples, a sanitization device includes an elongated member, a plurality of sanitizing sources located on a surface of the elongated member, and an attachment mechanism coupled to the elongated member, where the attachment mechanism is to couple the elongated member to an electronic device including a display.

IN-VEHICLE DECONTAMINATION
20220202969 · 2022-06-30 ·

A system and method for safe decontamination of a vehicle cabin while passengers can be present are disclosed that uses and/or has at least one data storage, at least one processor, at least one infrared (“IR”) sensor, and at least one ultraviolet (“UV”) emitter having a beam steering module. At least one contaminated area in the vehicle cabin is tracked using IR sensor data from the IR sensor. It is determined if there's a direct line of sight between the UV emitter and the at least one contaminated area. If so, UV emitter is activated to target the at least one contaminated area and blocking UV illumination on non-contaminated areas of the vehicle cabin and areas temporarily covered by a passenger.
