ELECTRIC SHAVER WITH IMAGING CAPABILITY
System and method for improving the shaving experience by providing improved visibility of the skin shaving area. A digital camera is integrated with the electric shaver for close image capturing of shaving area, and displaying it on a display unit. The display unit can be integral part of the electric shaver casing, or housed in a separated device which receives the image via a communication channel. The communication channel can be wireless (using radio, audio or light) or wired, such as dedicated cabling or using powerline communication. A light source is used to better illuminate the shaving area. Video compression and digital image processing techniques are used for providing for improved shaving results. The wired communication medium can simultaneously be used also for carrying power from the electric shaver assembly to the display unit, or from the display unit to the electric shaver.
Electronic subassembly for a personal care product
An electronic subassembly for a personal care product with a housing defining a chamber having an open end. A first circuit board having a rigid end is positioned within the chamber and a flexible portion is positioned outside the chamber. A second circuit board is positioned within the chamber. The second circuit board has a connector dimensioned to receive the rigid end of the first circuit board.
Electronic subassembly for a personal care product
An electronic subassembly for a personal care product with a housing defining a chamber. The housing has a tapered guide surface. A first circuit board having a rigid end is positioned within the chamber and a flexible portion positioned outside the chamber. A second circuit board is positioned within the chamber of the housing. The second circuit board has an electrical connector dimensioned to receive the rigid end. An adapter is secured to the first circuit board between the rigid end and the flexible portion. The adapter has a corresponding tapered guide surface that engages the tapered guide surface of the housing to align the rigid end with the electrical connector.
Reciprocating razor having blades coupled by linkages that bend around stationary pivot points
A shaving razor. A first and second blade assembly each have a cutting edge oriented to shave in the same direction. The first and second blade assemblies are each displaceable along a respective first and second path substantially parallel to their cutting edge. First and second linkages couple together a first ends and second ends respectively of the first and second blade assembly. Stationary element provide pivot points around which the linkages bend. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.
Method and system for regulating electric current flow from a power source to a blade cartridge in a wet shave razor
A method for regulating current flow in a wet shave razor includes one or more conductive materials, such as metals, in electric circuit connection, wherein each conductive material has unique resistance properties and is used to regulate the amount of current (i.e. heat) flowing to at least one electrically powered component on the blade cartridge, and particularly one or more electrically powered devices/elements on the blade cartridge such as, but not limited to, one or more blades, one or more heating elements, a vibration device, illuminating device (e.g. LED or bulb), gauges, or indicators. The length and thickness of the conductive materials used in the electric circuit further affects the total circuit resistance and, accordingly, the amount of current flowing to the blade cartridge for heating the blades. In other embodiments, the dissimilar material conductors may be used to regulate current flow to alternative electrically conductive components.
Personal care appliance
A personal care appliance with a flexible circuit board having a first end portion, a second end portion and a flexible bridge between the first end portion and the second end portion. A first rigid circuit board is mounted to the first end portion of the flexible circuit board. A second rigid circuit board is mounted to the second end portion of the flexible circuit board and folded over the first rigid circuit board. At least one electronic component that emits electromagnetic waves is mounted to the first rigid circuit board. A flexible antenna is in electrical communication with first rigid circuit board. The flexible antenna has a top surface with a copper track facing away from the first rigid circuit board in a folded position.
Shaving razor with one or more reciprocating blades
A shaving razor having a handle and a shaving head with an exposed reciprocating blade. A power source is disposed within the handle with an actuator that causes at least one blade of a multi-blade razor head to reciprocate within a zone of motion. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.
METHOD OF ASSEMBLING AN ELECTRONIC SUBASSEMBLY FOR A PERSONAL CARE PRODUCT
A method of assembling an electronic subassembly for a personal care product by manufacturing a hollow housing defining a chamber having a first open end and an opposing second open end. A rigid end of a first circuit board is inserted into the first open end of the housing. A second circuit board subassembly having a second circuit board is inserted into the chamber through the second open end. The first circuit board is connected to the second circuit board within the chamber of the housing.
SHAVING RAZORS AND SHAVING CARTRIDGES
A shaving razor handle with a handle casing and a handle interconnect member coupled to the handle casing. The handle interconnect member has a body with an arched profile. A projection extends from the body. The projection has a pair of side surfaces that taper from an enlarged distal end to a relatively smaller base forming a projected apex angle.
