A cutting apparatus includes a blade changing apparatus for changing a cutting blade mounted on a spindle of a first cutting unit and changing a cutting blade mounted on a spindle of a second cutting unit. The blade changing apparatus includes a nut mounting and demounting unit for mounting and demounting a nut in each of the first and second cutting units and a blade mounting and demounting unit for mounting and demounting the cutting blade in each of the first and second cutting units. The nut mounting and demounting unit includes a rotating shaft, a first nut rotating portion fixed to one end of the rotating shaft, a second nut rotating portion fixed to the other end of the rotating shaft, a motor, and a power transmitting unit connected to the motor and the rotating shaft.

A cutting device for cutting rock includes a disc and a plurality of cutting elements secured to the disc. The disc is supported for rotation about an axis of rotation, and the disc includes a peripheral edge extending around the axis of rotation. The plurality of cutting elements are spaced apart along the peripheral edge of the disc and positioned in a cutting plane. Each of the cutting elements includes a base portion and a cutting portion including a cutting edge, and the cutting portion has a width that is larger than a width of the base portion.

A roof cutter and a method of cutting a roof is provided. The roof cutter includes a base that is movable between a retracted configuration and a cutting configuration. In the retracted configuration, the blade is displaced from the roof. In the cutting configuration, the blade is positioned so as to facilitate cutting of the roof. The roof cutter includes a stop assembly and an engagement member that is configured to engage with the stop assembly when the base is in the cutting configuration, thereby establishing a maximum cutting depth. A dampening mechanism softens impacts associated with the blade moving to the cutting depth and absorbs vibrations associated with cutting the roof at the cutting depth. An adjustment assembly is configured to selectively adjust the cutting depth and/or to selectively restrain the base in the retracted configuration, thereby preventing the blade from cutting the roof.

A food processor is provided that includes necessary blades and plates to carry out multiple functions of the food processor including slicing, shredding, and grating without having to remove and replace blades and plates to carry out those same functions. The motor of the food processor may operate in either the clockwise or counterclockwise direction. In the clockwise direction, the blades and plates within the cutting chamber may be configured to slice food at variable thicknesses, cut food at variable sizes in a julienne style, or grate food at various thicknesses. In the counterclockwise direction, food may be diced.

A processing apparatus includes a cutting blade mounted on a spindle, the cutting blade having a cutting edge for cutting a workpiece held on a holding table, a measuring portion for measuring an edge projection amount of the cutting edge at a predetermined frequency, and a data processing portion. A cutter is provided for cutting through obstructions disposed in the interior of pipes ranging in size from approximately 8 to approximately 15 in diameter or from approximately 12 to approximately 24 in diameter. The cutter has been reduced in size relative to known root cutters to be capable of being used with smaller-diameter pipes, but is sufficiently powerful to cut through obstructions, such as mineral deposits, for example, that known flexible cutters capable of being used with these smaller-diameter pipes are incapable of cutting through.
