Ultrasonic cutter
11260551 · 2022-03-01 · ·

An ultrasonic cutter cuts edge chamfers of plate-shaped workpieces using a cutter head which forms an axis of rotation and a blade which extends from the cutter head and forms a cutting wedge, terminating in a straight cutting edge, between flank and contact faces determined by the wedge angle. In order to create advantageous structural conditions, the axis of rotation extending on the blade side of the flank face is at a distance from the flank face which is equal to or greater than the distance of the center of mass of the blade from the flank face and the cutting edge, extending in the direction of the axis of rotation, extends at a distance from the axis of rotation which corresponds at most to the blade thickness.

Method of perforating a nonlinear line of weakness

A method of perforating a web includes: rotating a cylinder comprising a longitudinal cylinder axis and at least one shaped anvil disposed on the cylinder; operatively engaging a support with the cylinder, wherein the support is moveable with respect to the cylinder; positioning a blade disposed on the support so as to cooperate in contacting relationship with the anvil, wherein the blade is substantially parallel to the longitudinal cylinder axis, and wherein at least one of the blade and the anvil comprise a plurality of teeth, and wherein adjacent teeth are separated by a recessed portion; and feeding a web between the cylinder and the support while the blade cooperates in contacting relationship with shaped anvil to perforate the web.

Packaging machine infeed, separation, and creasing mechanisms

A machine for forming packing templates includes a infeed mechanism that can feed multiple feeds of sheet material into the machine without repositioning the infeed mechanism or forming creases or bends in the sheet material. The machine also includes a separation and cutting systems with one or more cutting tables and biased knives that cut the sheet material packaging templates. The machine also includes creasing roller(s) that forms creases in the sheet material. The machine also includes a system for reducing or eliminating the impact of irregularities in the sheet material.

Rotating cutting blade assembly
09821485 · 2017-11-21 ·

A cutting assembly for use in a hydro-cutting system in which water and food products are conveyed through tubes and the food products are sliced into smaller pieces. The cutting assembly includes multiple disks and U-shaped blades. Legs of the blades are mounted between the substantially parallel disks on opposite sides of the disks, thereby holding the blades in place. A rotationally-driven motor driveshaft extends through the assembly and the assembly is mounted in a tube. When the water and food products are conveyed into the cutting assembly, the rotating assembly slices pieces from the food product, and the pieces are separated from the water for later use or processing. The water can be used in another slicing cycle.

A CHOPPER ASSEMBLY AND A METHOD FOR CUTTING A STRAND
20170326748 · 2017-11-16 ·

A chopper assembly for cutting filaments in a strand into short lengths, comprising two rolls (1,4) being rotatable in opposite directions and having a pinch where the rolls (1,4) contact each other. At least one of the rolls (1,4) is provided with cutting blades (2,5) at its cylindrical outer surface. Means (15) are present for guiding said strand to said pinch where the filaments of the strand are cut. Both axes of rotation (16,17) of the rolls (1,4) are parallel to the tangential plane through said pinch and make an angle (α) with each other, so that the cutting blades (2,5) move in axial direction with respect to each other in the pinch.
