The present invention is a cast iron pipe cutter. The cast iron pipe cutter includes a movable upper cutting tool and a rigid lower cutting tool. The upper cutting tool and lower cutting tool includes multiple cutting disc spaced an arc length apart. As the upper cutting tool is advanced downward by a hydraulic press, the cutting discs apply increasing pressure to the outer surface of a cast iron pipe until each cutting discs in the upper cutting tool and the lower cutting tool creates a fracture in the cast iron pipe. The multiple fractures created by the cutting discs amalgamate into a single fracture and the cast iron pipe is cut almost instantaneously.

Described is a cap (1) for a container (2), a combination of a closing cap for a container and a neck of the container and a relative method for making the cap for the container. The cap comprises a lateral wall extending about an axis and a transversal wall positioned at one end of the lateral wall, a separation line being provided on the lateral wall to define a retaining ring, which is configured to remain anchored to a neck of the container and which extends up to a free edge; a closing element (302) removably engageable with the neck, so as to open or close the container; the separation line extends about an axis and being circumferentially interrupted to leave the retaining ring (301) and the closing element joined; wherein the retaining ring comprises a joining portion (305) at which the retaining ring is joined to the closing element; a first connecting band (306), which extends from a first end zone of the joining portion to the retaining portion (303), and a second connecting band (307), which extends from a second end zone of the joining portion, the second end zone being positioned circumferentially on the opposite side to the first end zone; a tab (308), interposed between the first connecting band (306) and the second connecting band (307) and being protruding, or aligned with respect to it, so that, when the closing element is in an open condition and the connecting bands keep the closing element connected to the retaining ring, the tab can rest on the neck (201). A method is also provided for making the cap in a cutting unit.

A processing apparatus 1 includes: a workpiece-set-position recognition unit 114 that moves an arm distal-end portion to a specified position measurement point to measure a shape of a workpiece in a workpiece set state in which the workpiece is positioned by a workpiece positioning unit, and thereby recognizes a set position of the workpiece; a processing-point-information generation unit 115 that, based on the set position of the workpiece and processing-target-portion information 124 indicating a position of a target portion of the workpiece for specified processing, generates processing-point information 125 indicating a processing point which is a movement point of the arm distal-end portion to perform the specified processing on the workpiece using a processing tool in the workpiece set state; and a workpiece-processing control unit 116 that moves the arm distal-end portion to the processing point based on the processing-point information 125 to perform the specified processing on the workpiece using the processing tool.

Apparatuses and methods for removing plant material
11737395 · 2023-08-29 · ·

A pruning system includes a cutting head comprising upper and lower cutting rings positioned along a bottom portion of one or more tubes. At least one of the cutting rings is adapted to rotate in a circular motion, while the other cutting ring may be adapted to remain stationary. A vacuum may be applied to suction target plant material, and the cutting head may be lowered toward the target plant material. As adjacent blades from the upper and lower cutting rings are separated in an open position, plant material may be collected in the opening defined by the adjacent blades of the cutting rings. As the blades converge, the opening may close, and plant material collected in the opening may be severed from the plant. System variables, such as blade orientation, vacuum speed, blade rotation speed, barrel size, and the cutting mechanisms, may be adjusted to accommodate different types of plant material. The pruning system may be installed on a vehicle and used with a vision system to remove materials from plant beds in a field.
