A thermal printer configured to perform printing on a linerless label including an adhesive surface formed on a back surface of the linerless label, the thermal printer comprising a cutter unit that includes: a fixed blade provided on the back surface side of the linerless label; and a movable blade configured to reciprocate between a first position at which the movable blade is opposed to the fixed blade through intermediation of the linerless label, and a second position at which at least a part of the movable blade overlaps the fixed blade and the movable blade forms a cut in the linerless label, wherein the movable blade includes: a first blade edge configured to form the cut in the linerless label; and a groove, which has an edge, and is formed in a sliding surface configured to slide on the fixed blade when the movable blade is at the second position, and wherein the edge includes: an adhesive blocking edge portion formed on the sliding surface along an advancing direction; and an adhesive scraping edge portion formed on the sliding surface so as to cross the advancing direction.

A cutting apparatus and a cutting device are disclosed including a modular insert arranged at least partially in a housing cavity, in which the modular insert includes a cutting element for performing a vertical or oblique cut and an abutting block which is interchangeable and couplable with the cutting element to fix a total dimension of the modular insert, in which an abutting face of the abutting block abuts on a back wall of the housing cavity so that a rear end of the cutting element is spaced away from the back wall. An assembly method is disclosed for assembling the aforesaid device including the steps of providing a plurality of interchangeable abutting blocks and of choosing an abutting block between the plurality of interchangeable abutting blocks on the basis of a desired total dimension of the modular insert.

An LCD screen polarizer cutting device includes a cutting unit and a shoveling unit mounted on a control carrier. The cutting unit includes a first and a second cutter arrayed side by side with a space formed between them. The shoveling unit is located behind the cutting unit and includes a first and a second shovel blade. The second shovel blade is located behind the first shovel blade and has a flat end section. Both of the first and the second shovel blade are located corresponding to the space between the first and the second cutter. The cutting unit cuts the LCD screen polarizer and, the shoveling unit shovels up a waste polarizer strip and a glue layer produced after the cutting. By pre-forming a cut groove on the LCD screen polarizer, the LCD screen can be easily cut subsequently to ensure good cutting flatness and upgraded production yield.

The present invention relates to a paper cutter, including a pipe body having a hollow channel, and a cutting tool mounted on the pipe body. The pipe body has a front end, a rear end, and a middle portion provided between the front end and the rear end. The middle portion is provided with a paper feeding gap and two guide inclined surfaces oppositely arranged. The arrangement that the paper feeding gap extends from the front end to the rear end through the guide inclined surfaces does not cause uneven cutting edges or tearing of a paper roll due to bending of edges of paper, such that a good cutting quality is achieved.

A knife is provided for a cutting device for cutting continuous rods in a manufacturing process, the knife including: a knife body having a distal end and a proximal end opposite the distal end, the knife body configured to be attached to a cutting device; and a cutting edge located at the distal end of the knife body, the cutting edge including at least two cutting edge segments, each cutting edge segment including a profile, the profile including one maximum protrusion from the knife body, and at least a portion of a second cutting edge segment of the at least two cutting edge segments protruding, from the knife body, to a greater extent than the maximum protrusion of a first cutting edge segment of the at least two cutting edge segments, from the knife body. A cutting device, and a method of manufacturing a cutting device, are also provided.
