The present invention relates to a machine for cutting decorations for frustoconical bodies, for cutting printed strips wherein arch-shaped decorations and disposable trapezoidal portions are alternated. The machine comprises two longitudinal supports mounted on clamping pieces and carriers of respective groups of counter blades; and two independent groups of blades attached to the respective groups of counter blades and defining a gap between them of increasing width towards a lower gravity outlet opening of the trapezoidal portions separated by cutting. The blades of each group are fixed to respective drive shafts mounted in holes in the longitudinal supports and fixed to a common plate driven by a cylinder. The clamping parts of the longitudinal supports and the common plate are exchangeable for others that provide different inclinations and separations of the groups of blades and counter blades.

This invention is a mechanical harvesting device which uses a novel approach to cut stems on agricultural products such as apples. The device is comprised of a system including levers and a unique cutting blade profile which allows for directional transfer of force from the wrists and forearms to effectuate cutting. The device is designed so that the cutting of stems on agricultural products can be performed separately and autonomously by both arms, thus offering improvements in efficiency and safety over other harvesting practices where the cutting is performed using both hands together. Current improvements include revisions to the product interface and safety guide as well as new versions of the device, employing many of the same design elements but having as the main difference a powered motor to actuate the cutting sequence in place of levers. Future improvements include options for data generation using electronic signal processing to tabulate periodic count totals on harvested product. Such data would help growers and marketers gather valuable information about crop sizing and labor efficiency.

The driving device drives the pair of blade holders to move synchronously in a direction approaching each other or a direction separating away from each other. The pair of holding blocks clamp the linear element and the pair of blades cut off the linear element clamped by the pair of holding blocks while the pair of blade holders move synchronously in the direction approaching each other.

At least one of the cutting rings is adapted to rotate in a circular motion, while the other cutting ring may be adapted to remain stationary. A vacuum may be applied to suction target plant material, and the cutting head may be lowered toward the target plant material. As adjacent blades from the upper and lower cutting rings are separated in an open position, plant material may be collected in the opening defined by the adjacent blades of the cutting rings. As the blades converge, the opening may close, and plant material collected in the opening may be severed from the plant. System variables, such as blade orientation, vacuum speed, blade rotation speed, barrel size, and the cutting mechanisms, may be adjusted to accommodate different types of plant material. The pruning system may be installed on a vehicle and used with a vision system to remove materials from plant beds in a field.
