The invention relates to a food comminution device having a base part, which has a receptacle for a cutting insert with at least one cutting blade, and having an actuation part, which is articulatedly connected to the base part and which, for pushing through food items for comminution, can be pivoted towards the cutting insert. The food comminution device is characterized in that a cutting insert with mutually spatially separate cutting regions, said cutting regions being separated from one another by an intermediate web, or a cutting insert with an uninterrupted cutting blade arrangement, in particular a cutting blade arrangement which is not interrupted by an intermediate web, or multiple separate cutting inserts simultaneously, in particular cutting inserts each with a separate frame, can be selectively fitted into the receptacle and used.

A post-processing apparatus includes: a cutter that cuts a transported sheet; a waste bin that stores a cutting waste generated by a cutting operation of the cutter and falling from the cutter; a sensor that detects the cutting waste at a predetermined position in a depth direction in the waste bin; and a hardware processor that controls the cutting operation of the cutter according to a cutting mode, sets a predetermined value according to the cutting mode when the sensor detects the cutting waste, counts the number of times of cutting by the cutter after the sensor starts to detect the cutting waste, and detects that the waste bin is full when the counted number of times of cutting reaches the predetermined value.

The invention relates to a food treatment apparatus, comprising a frame, a treatment chamber apt to receive a treatment tool and a feed channel formed by side walls with an open side for inserting food. A pushing device is configured to be inserted within the feed channel to press food towards the treatment tool. The pushing device comprises a pusher support lever pivotally movable relative to the frame around a pivot axis and a pusher rod slidably coupled to the pusher support lever to slide along a sliding axis.

Side walls are configured to allow the pusher support lever to be rotated around the pivot axis and at the same time to allow the pusher rod to be translated along said sliding axis while the pushing device is moved from an open position towards a closed position.

An electrically operated slice cutting machine separates slices from strand-shaped products, such as food products. The machine includes a machine housing, which holds a drive motor and a rotating cutting blade driven by the drive motor. The machine housing has a storage region near the cutting blade. A tray for receiving slices is removably coupled to the machine housing or to an attachment part of the machine housing. The tray is coupled in a horizontal operating position during a cutting operation, and is movable in at least one removal position, in which the tray is configured to be released and removed from the coupling device, when outside of the cutting operation. An automated apparatus for removing the tops (calyx) of strawberries as they move along a conveyor belt having a plurality of concave-shaped slotted rollers which operate to orient the calyx of each strawberry for being cut. Images are captured and processed for locating the calyx of each strawberry and determining an optimal cutting plane. In response to the image processing a control system actuates a blade in a cutting apparatus to pass through the produce item and into one of the slots in a roller, or rollers, to separate the calyx from the body of the strawberry.
