Cutting device including first blade edge portion, and second blade edge portion in which shearing angle at center portion is larger than shearing angle at end portions
A cutting device includes: a frame; a fixed blade including a first blade edge portion extending in an extending direction; a movable blade movable in a moving direction; a driving mechanism; and a pressing member. The movable blade includes: a second blade edge portion; and a contacting portion. The second blade edge portion has a valley-like shape such that a center portion in the extending direction thereof is closer to the contacting portion than end portions in the extending direction thereof are to the contacting portion. The second blade edge portion has shearing angles that are inclination angles relative to the extending direction. The shearing angles includes a first shearing angle that is the shearing angle at each end portion and a second shearing angle that is the shearing angle at the center portion. The second shearing angle is larger than the first shearing angle.
Variable length cutting systems and methods
In some embodiments, a modular system for a printer may include a support bracket configured to be coupled to a printer, a cutting unit laterally mounted to the support bracket, and a tamp system laterally mounted to the support bracket. The cutting unit may be configured to receive a label web from the printer.
PRINTING DEVICE AND CUTTING DEVICE
A cutting device includes a medium transporting mechanism, a cutting mechanism and a cutting platen. The cutting mechanism includes a cutter blade, a carriage holding the cutter blade, a carriage driving mechanism moving the carriage in a width direction of a medium, and a medium pressing member pressing the medium. The medium pressing member is attached to the carriage, and the medium pressing member is formed with an opposing surface facing the opposing portion. An advancing direction side of the carriage when the cutter blade cuts the medium is a first direction side, a first inclined surface is formed at an end portion on the first direction side of the opposing surface. The first inclined surface being inclined toward a side away from the opposing portion toward the first direction side, and the first inclined surface is disposed more toward the first direction side than the cutter blade.
Crafting apparatus
A crafting apparatus (10) includes a working portion (22) and a base portion (20). The working portion (22) includes a lower surface (32) and an upper surface (34). The upper surface (34) defines a working three dimensional Cartesian coordinate system (X-Y-Z). The base portion (20) includes a lower surface (24) and an upper surface (26). The lower surface (32) of the working portion (22) is disposed adjacent to the upper surface (26) of the base portion (20). The lower surface (24) defines a non-working three dimensional Cartesian coordinate system (X.sub.S-Y.sub.S-Z.sub.S). The upper surface (34) of the working portion (22) extends relative to the lower surface (24) of the base portion (20) at an angle (.sub.22) for angularly-offsetting the working three dimensional Cartesian coordinate system (X-Y-Z) from the non-working three dimensional Cartesian coordinate system (X.sub.S-Y.sub.S-Z.sub.S). Methods (200, 300) are also disclosed.
