Sheet cutting device and image forming apparatus including the sheet cutting device
A sheet cutting device includes a cutter, a movable member, a driving device, and a sheet holder. The movable member moves the cutter in a cutting direction. The driving device drives the movable member. The sheet holder is disposed on a downstream side of a sheet cutting position of the cutter in a sheet conveyance direction, to hold a sheet. The sheet holder includes a sheet holding member that is disposed on a sheet cutting start side of the cutter and is movable to a sheet holding position at which the sheet holding member holds the sheet and a non-holding position at which the sheet holding member does not hold the sheet. When the sheet is cut by the cutter, the sheet holding member moves to the sheet holding position. After cutting of the sheet has been completed, the sheet holding member moves to the non-holding position.
CUTTING DEVICE HAVING CUTTING BLADE RECIPROCALLY MOVABLE WITHIN MOVABLE RANGE AND PRINTING DEVICE PROVIDED WITH THE SAME
In a cutting device, a cutting blade is reciprocally movable within a movable range including a first retracted position away from a target to be cut and a cut complete position at which cutting of the target is to be completed. A memory is configured to store cutting data indicating the first retracted position. A controller is configured to perform controlling, in response to determining that the cutting blade has stopped at an intervening position between a cut start position at which cutting of the target is started and the cut complete position, a drive portion to move the cutting blade from the intervening position to a second retracted position positioned within the movable range and away from the target. The controller is configured to further perform updating the cutting data stored in the memory so as to indicate the second retracted position in place of the first retracted position.
CUTTER MECHANISM FOR A PRINTER AND METHODS OF CUTTING PAPER MEDIA IN A PRINTER
A cutter mechanism for a printer is provided. The cutter mechanism comprises a rotary cutter and a straight blade assembly. The rotary cutter may be mounted for rotation about a rotation axis and for translation across at least a portion of a width of a paper path perpendicular to the rotation axis. The straight blade assembly may be mounted for rotation about a shaft and adapted to cooperate with the rotary cutter. The straight blade assembly comprises a straight blade extending across the width of the paper path. A printer mechanism cover is mounted coaxially on the shaft so as to be movable between a closed position and an open position. A portion of the cover may impact the straight blade assembly when the cover is moved from the closed position to the open position, causing the straight blade to be moved away from the rotary cutter.
CUTTER APPARATUS AND PRINTING APPARATUS
A cutter apparatus is provided that includes a fixed blade and a movable blade positioned facing the fixed blade, and that is configured to cut a medium transported between the fixed blade and the movable blade. The movable blade includes: a guide portion that is driven to reciprocate between a standby position at a distance from the medium and a cutting position, where the movable blade intermeshes with the fixed blade, protrudes further toward the movable blade than a cutting edge of the fixed blade when the movable blade is in the standby position, and is pressed by the movable blade to move in a state of being contact with the fixed blade when the movable blade is in the cutting position; and a biasing member configured to bias the guide portion toward the fixed blade.
PRINTING APPARATUS AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING PRINTING APPARATUS
A printing apparatus including: a printing apparatus main body, a main body of a cutter unit, an attachment position thereof with respect to the printing apparatus main body being changeable, a fixed blade, a movable blade configured to mesh with the fixed blade to cut a printing medium, and a pickup sensor configured to detect a printing medium, in which the movable blade and the pickup sensor are supported on the main body, and with a change of an attachment position of the cutter support, an amount of a remaining portion of the printing medium after being cut by the movable blade changes.
PRINTING UNIT AND THERMAL PRINTER
A printing unit includes a head unit; a platen unit separately combined with the head unit; a fixed blade provided to the platen unit; a movable blade, which is provided to the head unit and is relatively movable with respect to the fixed blade; a drive mechanism, which includes a drive rack coupled to the movable blade, and moves the movable blade between a standby position being separated from the fixed blade and a cutting position at which the movable blade rides on the fixed blade; an operation lever being movable between a lock position and a releasing position; and a return mechanism configured to move the movable blade from the cutting position toward the standby position side through intermediation of the drive rack in association with the operation lever. The return mechanism includes a lever returning mechanism, under the state in which movable blade is stopped at the cutting position, transmits motive power generated along with an operation of the operation lever from the lock position toward the releasing position to the drive mechanism to move the movable blade toward the standby position and returns the operated operation lever from the releasing position side to the lock position.
MEDIUM CUTTER AND LIQUID DISCHARGE APPARATUS
A medium cutter includes a conveyor configured to convey a medium in a conveyance direction, a cutter configured to cut the medium from one end of medium in a cutting direction orthogonal to the conveyance direction, a first holder movable to contact a first surface of the one end of medium, and a second holder configured to contact a second surface of the one end of medium opposite the first surface. The first holder is disposed downstream of the cutter in the conveyance direction, and the first holder moves to the one end of medium to pinch and hold the one end of medium between the first holder and the second holder.
Swivel knife holder assembly for a multi-ply reciprocating cutter
The swivel knife holder assembly includes a shoulder screw defining an axis, and having a proximal threaded end and a distal head, and mounted on the shoulder screw is a bobbin assembly. The swivel knife holder assembly also includes a shell defining an interior, and having a distal opening and a proximal opening. A core is secured in the interior and is coupled to a knife for cutting fabric material. The proximal opening of the shell is defined by a flange and houses the shoulder screw therein. Threadably coupled to the proximal threaded end of the shoulder screw is a stem. The stem secures the bobbin assembly within the shell and also includes a mounting surface for engaging a reciprocating drive mechanism.
Cutting device and label printer
A cutting device includes a fixed blade and a movable blade that slides past the fixed blade during cutting, and a cleaning tool with an adhesive removing element that comes into contact with a surface of the movable blade that faces the fixed blade during the cutting.
COMBINATION PRINTER AND CUTTING APPARATUS
A combination printer and cutting device for printing upon and cutting a web of media or tag stock into individual units. The device may cut vinyl, plastic, or RFID stock material as it moves through the printer in both back and forth directions. The device comprises a printer and a cutting apparatus that is further comprised of a carriage assembly and a movable cutter assembly. The cutter assembly is easily interchangeable and comprises a cutting element such as a wheel blade, and a pressure adjusting element for adjusting the amount of pressure applied by the cutting element to the stock material. Alternatively, the cutter assembly may be manufactured with a predetermined pressure load, but still permit an operator to adjust the depth of cut. The cutting apparatus is adaptable for use with both new and existing printers.
