The first pair of suction nozzles is adapted to suck trims generated by the first set of cutting tools and the second pair of suction nozzles is adapted to suck trims generated by the second set of cutting tools.

An apparatus and a method for trimming a module are disclosed. In and embodiment the method includes fixing a rear transverse side of module, guiding the rear cutting head along the rear transverse side thereby cutting off a rear overlapping portion of the overlapping film and releasing the rear transverse. The method further includes moving the module into a region of two longitudinal cutting devices, fixing the module on both longitudinal sides, guiding longitudinal cutting heads along the longitudinal sides thereby cutting off longitudinally overlapping film portions on both longitudinal sides, and releasing the longitudinal sides of the module. The method furthermore includes moving the module into a region of the front cutting device, fixing a front transverse side of the module, guiding a front cutting head along the front transverse side thereby cutting off a front overlapping portion of the overlapping film.

A cutting equipment trims strips of webs in movement by means of a stationary trimming blade and a rotating cylinder with a mobile trimming blade during transversal cuts and separation of basic sheets. The rotating cylinder includes a sector with suction openings connected to a vacuum source, which retains the strips by suction and drags the strips up to a collector of the trimmed strips. The cutting equipment cuts and separates transversal strips of two webs overlapped in adherence jointly to the cutting of the basic sheets. To this end, a perforating device perforates a row of holes on the first web adjacent to an edge of the sheets: a first web is positioned with the row of holes in front of the suction openings, while the strip of the second web is retained and dragged by suction through the holes of the first web up to the collector of the trimmed strips.

A post-processing apparatus includes a side edge part removing portion that removes a side edge part from a sheet; a side edge part housing portion that houses the removed side edge part and is able to be pulled out from an apparatus body; a guide plate that is inclined in a direction intersecting with a moving direction of the side edge part and guides the removed side edge part along the moving direction to the housing portion; and a second guide plate that is arranged between the housing portion and the guide plate, and is transformable into a first form having substantially mountain-shaped inclined surfaces in which both end portions of the second guide plate along the moving direction are lower than a center portion thereof, and a second form having substantially valley-shaped inclined surfaces in which both the end portions are higher than the center portion.

The sheet material conveying device is equipped with a suction member that moves the sheet-shaped member, and a negative pressure supply unit that supplies a negative pressure to the suction member. The suction member is constituted by a porous body capable of sucking under the negative pressure one surface of the sheet material having been unwound from the roll body and is movable in a conveying direction.

The intermediate station is equipped with elements for creating a spread of a jaw fold belonging to the printed product or of a cover belonging to the printed product. The first element has a configuration which, in operative connection with a translation of the printed product, initiates the spreading of a jaw fold or of a cover and consolidates the opening thereof. The second element has a configuration that allows the printed product to be transported, with the jaw fold or cover spread, via a further translation to the front cut location.

Every time that the plastic film (1) is intermittently fed, the trimming cutter (7) is moved by a trimming cutter moving mechanism, so that a corner of the plastic bag is cut by the trimming cutter (7) and the cut-out portion (11) is continued from the selvage (8).

Polygonal elastomeric barrier sheets have tapered edges on at least two adjacent sides. At least one of the tapered edges is made by cutting the elastomeric barrier sheet along a cut line at an angle of at most 15 from the plane of the sheet. The elastomeric barrier sheet is supported during the cutting step to prevent distortion due to pressure of the cutting blade. The elastomeric barrier sheet can be supported from above, below or from both above and below, and can be supported on each side of the cut line. The polygonal barrier sheets so produced are useful in building and construction to seal gaps between structural elements such as expansion or control joints in a building or around functional elements such as a window or door inserted into a wall.
