A tool for pressing a foamed material onto a substrate, a manufacturing apparatus thereof, and a method for manufacturing a laminated structure of a heat-retaining container are disclosed. The tool comprises a body, a blade portion extending in a lengthwise direction from the body, and a press portion extending in the lengthwise direction from the body and configured for pressing the foamed material onto the substrate. The tool may be used to press a foamed material sheet onto a paper substrate and form a tear line on the foamed material sheet at the same time to simplify the manufacturing process of the laminated structure of a heat-retaining container.
EDGE STABILITY
A method and apparatus for cutting a Non-Crimp Fabric for improving edge stability and reducing stitch retraction is disclosed. The part of the NCF to be cut is treated with a binder and heated to activate the binder and therefore bind the tows and stitches together. By treating only the cutting path the drapability of the wider fabric is maintained. This may be achieved by heating only the part of the NCF to be cut, or applying binder to only the part of the NCF to be cut. The NCF may be compressed and cooled before cutting to improve binding action. A ply cutter may be adapted to carry out the invention by including a heat source and optionally a binder dispenser, compressor and cooler.
CUTTING TOOL
A cutting tool for cutting netting used for encasing meat products comprises a blade and a guard. A control circuit is electrically connected to the blade, and configured to maintain the temperature of the blade at a cutting temperature in the range of 300° C. to 500° C. The guard defines an interior cavity surrounding the blade and further comprises a slot exposing a portion of the blade. The guarding is further shaped to define a funnel at a distal end of the cutting tool leading to the slot such that in use the funnel guides a netting to be cut towards the blade. The cutting tool may be provided as a hand tool or in a bench mounted form.

A device and method for cutting-to-length surgical suture material uses a thread spool having a continuous thread of the surgical suture material, a thread advancing gripper for drawing off a defined length of surgical suture material, and a cutting unit for cutting the surgical suture material. By way of a deflection installation, the surgical suture material is placeable so as to be angled to the primary transport direction in at least one open loop. The length of the open loop can be variably adjusted. The cutting unit is positioned between the thread spool and the deflection installation.
