Optical fiber cutting device and optical fiber cutting method
A cutting device for cutting an optical fiber running in a first direction includes a supporting piece having a free end and a fixed end and having resilience, a cutting blade supported by the supporting piece that comes into contact with the optical fiber to make a right angle with the optical fiber at a point of the contact, and a driving device. The driving device is configured to press the supporting piece in a second direction in a plane perpendicular to the first direction, with the second direction not intersecting with the first direction.
Vacuum Knife Tool
Cutting of a material, such as a textile or film, can damage the material. A tool is provided that utilizes vacuum pressure near a knife edge to increase a result of the cut. The vacuum pressure passes through a base portion of the tool that has a recessed portion effective to distribute vacuum pressure to one or more apertures extending around an insert of a core portion. The one or more apertures align with a void between the knife edge and the insert allowing for the void to transmit the vacuum pressure through the tool to the knife edge. A machine horn may then cut the material at the knife edge and couple the material with another material.
CUTTING MACHINE AND METHOD FOR SLICING A LOAF INTO SLICES
A cutting machine for slicing a loaf into slices includes a forming tube channel extending in an axial direction, with an open longitudinal side and a channel cavity. A plurality of cross press stamps of different widths can each be inserted into the open longitudinal side of the forming tube channel for forming a forming tube having a rear end and a cutting end. The cutting machine further includes a cutting device with a blade arranged in front of the cutting end of the forming tube, and the blade is displaceable in a transverse direction relative to the forming tube. A width of the channel cavity of the forming tube channel is variable, and a cross press drive is provided for displacing a cross press stamp of the plurality of cross press stamps into the open longitudinal side of the forming tube channel in a first transverse direction.
CUTTING PEN, CUTTING PLOTTER, AND BLADE EXTENSION AMOUNT CONTROL METHOD OF CUTTING PLOTTER
A cutting pen includes a cutting pen main body including a blade projecting from one end, a medium pressing member inserted into the cutting pen main body to be movable in a state in which a cap portion projects from the one end of the cutting pen main body, and a knock mechanism configured to change the position of the medium pressing member with respect to the cutting pen main body stepwise by causing the medium pressing member to repetitively reciprocally move with respect to the cutting pen main body.
FOOD ITEM CUTTING SYSTEM AND METHOD
A cutting system and method for cutting food items includes an in-feed conveyor having an in-feed conveyor surface and an out-feed conveyor having an out-feed conveyor surface. The in-feed and the out-feed conveyors are arranged in an end-to-end arrangement. The system has a cutting knife defining a cutting plane within which it moves as it performs a cut. The cutting plane is defined between the ends of the in-feed and the out-feed conveyors. The cutting system has an out-feed hold down device with a surface facing the out-feed conveyor surface and being arranged in relation to the out-feed conveyor surface such that it is able to apply a pressure onto a portion of a food item resting on the out-feed conveyor surface while it is being cut by the cutting knife.

EDGE STABILITY
A method and apparatus for cutting a Non-Crimp Fabric for improving edge stability and reducing stitch retraction is disclosed. The part of the NCF to be cut is treated with a binder and heated to activate the binder and therefore bind the tows and stitches together. By treating only the cutting path the drapability of the wider fabric is maintained. This may be achieved by heating only the part of the NCF to be cut, or applying binder to only the part of the NCF to be cut. The NCF may be compressed and cooled before cutting to improve binding action. A ply cutter may be adapted to carry out the invention by including a heat source and optionally a binder dispenser, compressor and cooler.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MAKING SINGLE-USE CAPSULES FOR BEVERAGES
Described is a method for making single-use capsules for beverages including the steps of: providing an upper flange having at least one hole; providing a support having at least one seat for housing a rigid cup-shaped body; inserting a rigid cup-shaped body in said housing seat, said rigid cup-shaped body having an inner space and an open upper opening; providing a piece of filter material above the upper flange; actuating a first step of feeding, by means of a pushing element, a central portion of said piece of filter material towards said hole, up to an intermediate position; upon reaching said intermediate position of the pushing element, performing a main locking of said piece of filter material relative to said upper flange and making a main cut of the piece of filter material along a predetermined main closed cutting line, extending substantially circularly about said central portion, to define a filter for infusion of beverages.
Roll-Dispensed Stock Container
A roll-dispensed stock container is provided with fixation strips attached to the body of the container and a cutter assembly attached to a lid of the container. Roll-dispensed stock is secured by the fixation strips when the lid of the container is in a closed configuration and the cutter assembly is configured to separate a sheet of the roll-dispensed stock of a desired length.
