A vacuum assist anvil cutting die set includes a cutting cylinder and an anvil cylinder. The cutting cylinder has an outer diameter surface with a cutting blade and a blade cavity adjacent to the cutting blade. The cutting cylinder has a vacuum port in communication with the blade cavity and is adapted and configured to be connected to a vacuum source to apply a vacuum to the blade cavity via the vacuum port. The anvil cylinder has an outer diameter surface with an anvil pin projecting from the outer diameter surface of the anvil cylinder. The anvil pin having a diameter and shape that closely approximates the blade cavity such that when a level of vacuum is applied to the cutting cylinder and the anvil cylinder is in rotational and linear register with the cutting cylinder, the anvil pin is insertable into the corresponding blade cavity in a manner to increase the level of vacuum of the blade cavity.

DIE BLOCK, STEEL-RULE DIE ASSEMBLY COMPRISING THE SAME, AND METHOD THEREOF
20200009758 · 2020-01-09 ·

The invention relates to steel-rule cutting dies having a die block with at least one kerf configured to receive a corresponding steel-rule intended to be partially inserted into the kerf. The die block also has at least one element having magnetic properties, such as for instance a magnet, located or embedded in proximity to each kerf for providing a magnetic field that retains the steel-rule when the steel-rule is received into the corresponding kerf. The presence of the magnetic element(s) in proximity to the kerf(s) allows maintaining the corresponding rule(s) in position within its kerf even if the kerf is cut loosely. The corresponding rule may be quickly and easily inserted and accurately maintained even if the die block expand or retract under atmospheric variations. Among other advantages, the invention allows better stability of the cutting-die, faster leveling on press, and increased the number of re-knifing and longer run-time.

Device and method for processing substrates

A device for processing substrates uses a separation system. Processed substrates can be separated into one or more waste parts and at least one blank. Improved flexibility for treating substrates is provided. The separation system comprises a transport cylinder and a stripping cylinder associated therewith. The transport cylinder has first openings and has a detachably secured packing having depressions in which perforations are formed, with at least one perforation covering at least one first opening. The stripping cylinder has a detachably secured packing having raised areas that correspond to the depressions.

Knife cylinder, rotary die cutter, fixation device for knife mounting base, and fixation method for knife mounting base

A knife cylinder is provided with a restraint parts disposed within a fixation hole; a compression coil spring for pressing the restraint parts inwardly of the fixation hole; an operating parts entering the inside of the restraint parts through a mounting hole; a protrusion provided to the restraint parts; a helical groove provided in the operating parts, the helical groove engaging with the protrusion and being configured so that, when the operating parts rotates, the helical groove can move the restraint parts from a first position to a second position; and a blocking groove provided in the outer surface of the operating parts and blocking the rotation of the operating parts in the reverse direction when the restraint parts is located at the second position.

Press cutting die assembly

An assembly and method of forming a press cutting die that includes a cutting blade that is supported by a blade support assembly or blade support. The blade support includes a first base portion and a second base portion that are each contoured to cooperate with one another to capture a portion of the cutting blade along an interface between the first and second base portions. Preferably, one or more keys extend between the first and second base portions and traverse the geometric plane associated with the cutting blade. Such a press cutting die is particularly applicable for cutting biologically compatible materials having a desired shape from a bulk source of the biologically compatible material.
