Slicer and pusher

A pusher for use with a mandoline slicer includes a cap having an upper and a lower end, the cap defining an interior space. A lower plate is attached to a pillar, which is attached to a telescoping post. The pillar and telescoping post are telescopically moveable with respect to one another along the central axis and trained for movement by a guide within the cap. Stops are provided along the guide to restrict the length of travel of the telescoping post and pillar. A spring is connected to the cap and the lower plate to urge the lower plate away from the cap in a direction from the upper end toward the lower end.

Tooling sensing and calibration apparatus and method

A method and apparatus to verify that proper tooling has been installed in a cable preparation apparatus and/or to calibrate the tooling prior to running the cable preparation apparatus with a cable inserted therein. The method includes: inserting a reference device between blades of the cable preparation device; moving the blades inward toward the reference device until the blades engage the reference device; collecting data to determine when the blades engage the reference device; and comparing the collected data of the blades to an expected range of data of the reference device, wherein if the collected data of the blades does not conform to the expected range of data of the reference device the tooling is not validated, and the apparatus alerts the user.

Bulk roll cutting apparatus with safety linkage and related methods

A bulk roll cutting apparatus with a safety linkage is used to prevent inadvertent gravitational falls of a blade. The apparatus has a frame holding the blade, the blade is movable between a cutting position and a retracted position. In the cutting position, the blade is positioned proximate to an arbor. At least one link arm is movably connected to the frame. An actuator connects between the at least one link arm and the blade. An adjustment device connects between the at least one link arm and the frame. The adjustment device controls a cutting depth of the blade relative to the arbor. A safety linkage connects between the at least one link arm and the frame, and the safety linkage prevents an inadvertent gravitational fall of the blade.

Method for Detecting the Making or Breaking of Contact of a Sonotrode with a Counter-Element
20220075341 · 2022-03-10 ·

The present invention concerns a method of detecting the making or breaking of contact of a sonotrode (4) which is caused to vibrate with a frequency f and a vibration amplitude A.sub.0 with a counterpart element (5). To provide a method with which contact-making or breaking of a sonotrode with a counterpart element can be particularly quickly and inexpensively detected it is proposed according to the invention that the method has the following steps: a) recording a time configuration of the vibration amplitude A.sub.0 (1) during a first measurement time interval ΔT, and b) determining from the time configuration of the vibration amplitude A.sub.0 (1) whether making or breaking of contact occurred within the measurement time interval ΔT.

A handheld motorised food cutting device
20220072728 · 2022-03-10 ·

A handheld motorised food cutting device (10) is disclosed herein. The handheld motorised food cutting device (10) comprises a body (12) to be gripped in a user's hand so that the device (10) is supported by the hand, the body (12) having a passage (14) extending inwardly of the body (12) from an inlet opening (16) through which a food item to be processed is inserted for movement along the passage (14) in a processing direction (18); a blade assembly (30) moveably mounted in the body (12) for reciprocating movement along a cutting path that is transverse of said processing direction (18), with the blade assembly (30) being exposed to the passage (14) so as to be engaged by the food item moved in said processing direction (18); and a drive assembly (50) to drive said blade assembly (30) along said cutting path, wherein the body (12) provides a surface to abut a palm of said hand, with fingers of the hand extending at least partly about said body so that the body (12) is gripped, and wherein said processing direction (18) is transverse of said surface.

STRIP CUTTING APPARATUS FOR DIAGNOSTIC REAGENT KIT
20220063951 · 2022-03-03 ·

Disclosed herein is a strip cutting apparatus for a diagnostic reagent kit that includes first and second shafts, each of which has knives and spacers arranged in such a way that two knives having blades facing each other and one spacer are arranged alternatively, and a guide member mounted to go between the first and second shafts to guide a diagnostic reagent, thereby accurately cutting the diagnostic reagent into strips of an approximately rectangular shape in a diagnostic reagent passing section and removing defect by preventing the strips from being twisted or bent. Since the guide member continuously guides the diagnostic reagent till the strips get out of the shafts, it is prevented that the cut strips are fit between the knives are twisted or deformed, thereby removing defect. Furthermore, adjusting screws are mounted at both ends of the first shaft supported to adjust an interval between the first and second shafts in a longitudinal direction, thereby more accurately adjusting the interval between the first and second shafts to enhance cutting effect of the strips.

ROPE RECOVERY TOOL
20220063122 · 2022-03-03 ·

A rope recovery tool for use on an anchor rope including a weight and a saddle that enclose the anchor rope. A blade adapted to be nested between the saddle and the weight there being a recovery rope attached to the rope recovery tool. In use the tool is fed down the anchor rope until it reaches its end and the recovery rope is then used to pull on the tool causing the blade to cut the rope to make it recoverable whilst sacrificing the anchor.

CUTTER MODULE AND METHOD

A method includes placing a cutter module in an engaging position; moving a positioner associated with the cutter module away from a homing position to contact and drag the cutter module until it is detected that the cutter module hits a first obstacle; and aligning the cutter module with the positioner; wherein, in the engaging position, the cutter module is in the movement path of the positioner.

Method for aligning a cutter plate using a remote alignment adjustment device

A method for aligning a cutter plate in a pelletizer for polymer pellets using a remote alignment adjustment device having a mechanical distance measurement probe and a camera for taking photos or videos. The remote alignment adjustment device is attached to the drive shaft of the cutter plate and rotates with the shaft to correct the alignment in different positions of the die plate. Additionally, a process for preparing polyethylene pellets in a pelletizer using the method for aligning the cutter plate.
