The present invention relates to a rotary cutting apparatus for cutting a web of material, including a cutting unit rotatably mounted on a support, a rotary cutter rotatably disposed in the cutting unit, the rotary cutter having a longitudinal axis, and at least one cutting edge disposed on the rotary cutter, wherein the at least one cutting edge is orientated at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the cutter. The cutting unit being counter orientated to the feed direction of the web by an adjustable angle equal to the cutting edge angle, less than the cutting edge angle or greater than the cutting edge angle.

In accordance with one embodiment, a paper processing apparatus comprises a perforation unit configured to include a rotary blade for perforating conveyed paper in a direction parallel to a conveyance direction and be capable of moving the rotary blade in a direction orthogonal to a conveyance path of the paper; a skew detection section configured at the upstream side of the perforation unit to detect the skew of the paper; a skew correction mechanism configured to incline the perforation unit and the rotary blade according to the detected skew amount of the paper; and a control section configured to control the position of the rotary blade and move the rotary blade to a perforation processing position before the paper is conveyed to the perforation unit.

A cutting station for a tire building machine includes a cutting device and a feeding device for feeding a strip of rubber material into the cutting device. The cutting device includes a cutting table for supporting the strip of rubber material in a support plane (P) and a cutting element for cutting the strip of rubber material along a cutting line (C) that extends parallel to the support plane (P), wherein the support plane (P) extends at a support angle (B) with respect to a first vertical plane in a range of five to thirty degrees and wherein the feeding device (5) is arranged for feeding the strip of rubber material onto the cutting table in a downward feeding direction parallel to the support plane.
